Hi all,
I'm new to this forum, I currently own a MY01 RX Liberty but looking to get a Liberty B4 hopefully by the end of the year. Basically at this stage just doing some research into importing one rather than buying Aust delivered as I want to keep the difference in cost as small as possible between my current car and the B4. Anyone done this or know where to start? Am considering both wagon or sedan at this stage.

speak to Squall77, not sure if he imported it, but he does have (about to) an imported B4. I think it came from New Zeland.

thanks for that bosc0, I already got some good info off Squall77 which got me thinking more seriously about it. Wondering if anyone else has done the same.

buy and front cut and keep what you have
then again I would supercharge what you have...or turbo it

Actually the new WRX STi in the states has a 2.5 litre turbo config... maybe you should look into using the same config on your RX... that would be awesome!

The only way you will get one in is by personal import, either yours or somebody elses.
As for supercharging a 2.5, it's not a good idea as the flow characteristics of the engine, not to mention the valves are definately not designed for boosting. I've seen 2 turbos 2.5's, and although they drove real nice, you can't develop any power with them, just heaps of torque, and man was there some of it !!
The Legacy will most likely come out with a 2.5 twin turbo next year, but if you want to do it properly, use a std twin turbo or single turbo engine and stroke it with a 2.5L crank and different rods and pistons. Now that's a good combination. I think it comes out around 2.2 or 2.4 litre, and has loads and loads of torque, and can develop serious power, so much so that a very modified gearbox would be a must unless you didn't mind climbing under the car regularly to clean the shavings of steel of the underbody :-)
I've also seen a twin turbo cut into a GX liberty which went well, however you would be much better off to go single turbo if you wanted to do this, much easier, and better to modify.
Regards
Paul
