Has any one ever done a day out at DECA (sheparton) :?: It would be good to organise a Liberty day there  These days are alot of fun and the skid pan doesnt do too much damage to the cars, if you dont go sick  I would like to know if there is so interest in going there :?:

I think that Mark would be in it just for the doughie opportunity.
Wet tarmac and no cops to ping you what more could he want?

yeah ive been before with MCCR. Was a great day, i even organised a set of wheels and tyres for the day but hardly needed them in the end.
MarkRST has been before too with the guys from Technik Tuning and had a great time, although that was in his Audi.
Let me do some research when i get a sec and ill see when a good time is and how much its going to cost. As we do have the ROC and maybe a trip to Tazzie coming up.

That would be great. The last time I went up was with the skyline club and I had a 88 Mazda 323 4wd turbo and I killed the front tyres because I went on the figure 8 track. The skid pan did no damage at all.

Yeah I was there on that Skyline day, mad fun! Also went with MCCR in my 180sx, 2nd fastest on day around the short track, 47sec :) Anyone else on here have a time around there?
Top day though! Can't see myself taking the RS on the pan or track, love my gearbox too much....yes...i'm soft :)

I've been twice with the WRX club and once with Autospeed.
Its generally pretty good fun, My car was stock when i first went, still managed a 2x rotation in standard form, have video footage (VHS) no MPEG sorry. So definate dounut potential for Mark and other like minded.
If its a goer i'll organise an old rug to drag behind a car to smother the track with water and a couple of big drums to pour out the back before the fun begins. I've found that the skin pan is not perfectly flat and need some water manipulation in order to saturate it.
I have an MPEG of the first time i went if anyone wants it email me stryker.ads@bigpond.com
You would need a few fella's though, it costs about $1400.00 for the track and skid pan only & you need a cams permit $158.00 for cams affiliated clubs, are we affiliated? You also need radios stop watch's etc...
There's also a skid pan out near the airport that the cops use for training, i know nothin about it though...

frite ive also been to a couple once with my rs turbo and once with the commo , the figure 8 track is the only tyre killer the rest is great , dont worry about the box dino itll be fine just no rev and dumps .
This club isnt cams affiliated so organising might be a bit difficult but ill talk to the admin to see what direction this club will be heading in

Dino, all you need is you handbrake and some fancy steering you'll have a ball. Contact me for the MPEG, it might inspire you...

if we are affiliated does that mean we can go the tracks like sandown and philip island cos that would be cool. If we are affiliated I dont think members would mind chipping in a couple of bucks at the next metting date :?: Or cover the costs with the enterance fee of the next event  Hope I havent got anyone upset cos its only a suggestion and I dont know the way this club is heading.

I'm under the impression that a CAMS affiliation means you can drive on most race tracks.
The WRX club has events at Sandown, Phillip Island, DECA and other car clubs private tracks.
The problem is these tracks are expencive to hire and you have to pay for damage to walls etc..
I myself am not sure which way the club is going; cruising and all that is one thing, racing without fear of loosing our liciences is another.
You might want to get a feel for racing by joining the WRX club, its not expencive. The days they have usually have at least 20 -30 cars there. They also run several differant classes. Check out there website to see when the next event is on www.wrx.com.au the morwell hilclimb is this weekend.

Guys I would LOVE to go to the skid pan and am willing to pay just about any amount for it. To have more time on the pan you just have to limit the number of cars.
Jake there are sprinklers but they don't exactly cover the whole skid pan.
