I'm no Ford fan (im only vice president of the anti ford commitee) but I have to admit that has bee done very nicely. Would love to see it move - it would be like a sneeze in a cyclone.

Also while i am in here,

How did he fit those tickford wheels? Did he use spacers or adapters or are they aftermarket copies made with the correct offset for the x and e series?

Thanks

one incredibly nice car..

you think it'd be posted on a ford site instead of having to find it thru a ford site :) lol

the wheels are copies which fit ea-el, you can also get au2 xr 17s in copies too.

george, im sure if u went to ff or fordmods u'd get a hell of a lot more praise from ford fanatics! :)

george|rst|
9th April 2003, 10:52 PM
They r not copies!!!... he also has those wheels on his EF!!

Every mofo asks him how he fit em... and u catch im on a good day he'll probably tell ya hahah

And yeah he'll probably get alot more praise if they r were posted on a ford site :D ... all will be able 2 c it at the Easternats, plus in a few mags, and a feature on a well know website soon..

hey its dave here mr fusion, lol to you mate ive had genuine au series 1 rims on both my cars for over two years, theres nothing fake about them, the non genuine ones are very much different, color, finsish, cant fit genuine centre deceals not to mention like most other mock up wheels they are weak and dont meet australian standards and i wouldnt dream of putting them behind 600+ hp  . And by the way guys thanks for all your great compliments i realy appreciate it  and my main mission is to have it ready for easter nats which is proving diffucult, thanks.

dave, your actually quite wrong.

i have au2 xr copies on my ef, they fit fine and the finish is actually better then the originals. also the tickford centre cap is a genuine ford part and fits fine, so i dont knwo where you got your infomation from; also their completely legal. oh! and even FORD Dealers bought a lot of copies for the AU range since they were cheaper then actually getting it from Ford themselves as ive been told by a ford dealer/wheel-tyre place.

thought i'd mention it :)

A lot has been said about the motor and paint but the car has some great small touches , the clear rear indicators are great and the au side repeaters suit the car and at least their ford items instead of the often used holden items.

My old vlt had 330 @ the wheels was auto and couldnt be held flat out in a straight line until above 140km/h , manual ,420kw and leaf rear springs ..... i think i'll watch from the side :D

Get it signed by Dick Johnson and drive it off a cliff. As you can tell I hate fords. But you can't argue its a well put together car.

DRMAT
26th April 2003, 01:57 AM
Better yet drive it off the cliff while Dick Johnson is inside it signing it... and chuck in Alan Jones as well.... come to think of it put those two traitors Lowndes and Ingall in the boot as well :D

But yes, very well done car, building my own car i can appreicate the time and money that goes into these things!!!

Ha Ha. The rat could be on a leash behind.

I don't know what to do with Ambrose yet though. Bright has made the right choice by leaving Ford (first thing right) then leaving the fu^%wit team was the best thing he could have done (second thing right).

I was talking to a guy at the Ford open day at the Ford Discovery Centre for the 100 Years of Ford (not sure if anyone else saw his car, it had been resprayed the Barra Blue colour which looked mad) who has an XE built up with a Super-Charger, and he was saying there is a guy in Sydney who makes Rear Spoilers and Side skirts to fit XD/XE/XF sedans, so if you can also get your hands on those it would really boosts the aero-dynamics aspect of the car!

It would really boost the performance of your XF as well as making it look one of the madest XF ever!

i know this thread is old but it's time a revival came about to acknowledge the awesome amount of work, effort and perfection which came together for this amazing car. commodore trims for the holden fans???? i think u'r on drugs, why would he want to give holden fans that kind of satisfaction.

why are so many ppl so narrow-minded that they cant look past the badge on the car to see the amount of work and effort involved with building such a car? phew now i feel better, had my two bits worth

Its dave with the xf, you'd be suprised how good the coffin handles, a double wish bone front end when set up right handles better than a machpherson strut front end like the one in your suby, p.s. when you wheelspin in 4th gear rolling... turning isnt a problem... so bring it on. Im coming on the next subaru cruise with George so we will see then ..

Gearbox....? funny question that.

from what g's said. his last XF was auto and ran EXTREMELY quick times.
he wanted to have some fun with this one, so it's got a...... 4 speed top loader.... i think..... G?

george|rst|
14th April 2004, 11:24 AM
Steve... it runs a toploader and a modified standard diff with a spool..

Daves run at calder a couple of times.. (pictured)
http://www.fullboost.com.au/racing/dragmeets/2004/calder_04_01_2/calder_04_01_2_035b.jpg

His best is 11.61 at 122mph.. the problem is finding a clutch that doesn't slip with slicks and 23psi.. so he hasnt had a clean run as yet..

Yeah and Jos said, there are Turbo 6 XE/F's out there with less power that run 10's all day.. but they all run autos.. :stick

watercool
14th April 2004, 01:03 PM
Yep, for strip work an auto would do the job better............

and J, why is it a funny question? "what G'box"

I just wanted to know what manual box he was running as he could have converted a Muncie or had some sort of Dog box in there...........

I guess his prime objective is street driving etc......... yeah?

george|rst|
14th April 2004, 01:09 PM
