Hi, All! I've been lurking about a few days getting a "feel" for this place, and I have to say it really does ROCK! I drive a Honda CRX, but my aunt just aquired a 1990 Legacy. (As you should be able to see, I'm in the US.) It's a great car. The only thing I dislike about it is how )(*#)(*#$)_&#*^$(*&#$(*&#^$ heavy the trannies are. Doing a clutch swap myself in below freezing weather was not fun . . . ;)

Having just about gotten fed up with the "import scene" online with all the ricer morons, It is totally refreshing to see a bunch of people as cool as this. I'll probably be asking some Subbie Newbie questions, but I hope to not annoy people with stupid questions like "How do you get a nut out of the hole?" (I've done lots of work on lots of different cars. heh)

Anyway, Cheers, all!

Ah, yes. The Nick. It has nothing to do with personal hygeine, disgruntled ex's, or anything salicious. It was a wiiiiiiiiiierd day in high school.

I like my CRX too much to sell it. I wouldn't mind having a turbo Legacy, though. To solve the problem, I'm going to turbo my car in the future, though. Right now, it's just got a JDM engine (DOHC non-VTEC), rims, I/H/E stripped interior, and a few other odds and ends. Right now it pretty much needs a full suspenion re-work, but since I'm broke, That's not gonna happen. heh

I probably will ask a stupid question one time or another. It is inevitable with me. =)

I must admit to having a bit of a soft spot for the Honda's.

At least thier engines anyway. I had a crazy concept to whack a B16A and gearbox into my old Corolla GTi. A bit of cross mojination and I reckon it would have been a screamer - a bit rare too!

I ALWAYS wanted a CRX with CYBER 2 kit on it, there's one parked here right near my work everyday plates PKTRKT (pocket rocket) i'll have to try to post a pick of the cyber kit for you.

rs_wagon-

That would be a cool idea, but you'd ahve to run a reversal gearing setup since almost all Honda engine turn counter clockwise. (Except for the new K and F series engines. Honda's got everything bass-ackwards now except for the S2K. You couldn't get me to drive a new Civic.) I've seen a whole B16 swapped into a classic Mini Cooper S. _)(*#$_)(*&$#_#*&$ fast car.
http://www.plmini.com/vtech.htm Pretty cool, if you ask me. =)

I've liked my car ever since I saw it in the garage for sale. I bought it because I knew Hondas were good cars, it was in my price range, and the palce I bought it from was a place I (used to) trust. A year later the head gasket blew. This was when I decided the shop was a "tad" les than trustworthy, and decided to man-up and fix it myself. I bought an imported engine, polpped it in, and have learned enough to make me annoyed that I can't afford to do what I want.

Thanks for the wlecome guys!

A guy I used to go to school with put a prelude V-TEC motor in an OLD SCHOOL civic. The thing looked very ordinary from the outside but it was a rocket!
A mate of mine bought a 96 prelude brand new and one day whilst driving through the hills his motor blew up - the car only had 30000kms on the clock. It turned out to be number 3 conrod broke. He had to go to court as honda didn't want to fix it under warranty as he had a cold air intake.
Mark.

I've heard of people swapping stupidly huge engines into those old skool civics. They are so light that any modern engine would make them fast.

There are some really stupid dealers. I avoid dealers if at all possible. Most of the people that work there are scuzzy sales people or morons working as techs. I think I've only come across three dealerships that I'd ever WANT to go to. That's pretty sad.
