Just thought you'd guys like to know that the host of 'the c word' drives an RS. That's me of course! I just bought it - I have wanted one for years and finally got one. And I absolutley lOVE it. No car out there better for the money.

It's a car culture show that's on C31 in Melb, Bris31 and Adelaide 31 Tuesdays at 9pm. It's pretty wild. We've just done our first series and in the middle of filming the second. Drifters, street drags, all sorts of stuff. I'm not Dieter Brummer either. If you can, check it out. We've been getting a huge reaction to the show - it's now just about the highest rating on the network.

Thanks for the support, you guys who watch the show. It's a half hour show - completely unfunded, so that means we all do it for nothing. It's a show that we want to get onto SBS or ABC. A show that really reflects what's going on out there with cars and people. We try to make it entertaining first and foremost. Then transfer of info comes second. Car show can be boring for those who aren't totally into cars, so we focus mostly on people. The first season is now being shown in Qld and SA, with Perth hopefully coming on board soon. Sydney has had issues with their licence, so when all that is sorted, hopefully early next year, we'll be approaching them. But hopefully next year the guys at the networks will see that we make a shit hot TV show that shows what is really happening in youth culture / cars.
Re. TheOC - never seen it - supposed to be good. I find commercial TV quite boring. Don't watch it much. Have a look at John Saffran Vs God, Monday nights SBS at 8:30 - that's TV. Funny, original, unpredicable.
The new season starts next week in Melb - for 13 weeks - Tuesday at 9PM, also repeated Sat nite 11PM. The first ep is a piss take on rockumentaries, nothing to do with cars, where we were asked by C31 to do a station ID for the network - we got one of the guys from John Butler Trio to help write a jingle - but the rest of the series covers heaps of stuff. I just previewed the first few eps, we look at Taxi Drivers, Drifter culture and hot rodders. The Taxi Driver ep. is remarkable(if I do say so myself) Done to the theme of 'Taxi Driver' - Robert DeNero circa 1976 it's a deep dive into taxi driver culture.

My car is pretty stock. Just a big can at the end for effect - I wanted something stock and will leave it that way. It's a wagon, in beautiful condition and will also stay that way. Such a great car. I had a Boxster before this (before I got into TV and had NO money) and the RS shits all over it. Yes, believe it or not. Reason, it's honest, goes like crazy and worth every cent. Plus, it fits heaps of equipment which we need when we film.

Hey Dieter, I've watched your show (or at least the re-runs). Sorry, but The OC sucks Jake. I'm sure it's aimed at 13 year old girls... actually that's probably why you like it so much Jake. :P

And frankly Dieter, you're a nut, I can relate to that, very entertaining, although you could have given the Audi RS6 a work out rather than just puttering around the block holding a mic, come on, put your foot down!!!

Nah, it's a great show. I was impressed with the Ford Escape ad you did. But you've told us about your bike on the show but nothing of the RS, shame.

I think you should feature a RS cruise. Or a whole series on modding the RS.

yes, but just got the RS 2 weeks ago and we finished filming the 1st series 4 months ago. RS will make into the second - don't worry about that.

Re. the RS6 - they would only let me drive it if I putted around the block. I tried mate, but the big boss was in the seat next to me... Wait till you see the Ford GT seg. in the 2nd series. That was mercilessly shellacked around the Thunderdome. Great car too.

Nice show.... but being an average pleb could i make a couple of suggestions as a car person and from some other people in the house (not so much car people).... first... was the cameraman/ woman pissed? The wobbly camera stuff almost lost the rest of the house..... second... i know you guys don't get funding but i hope you got a lot form Honda for the amount of ads they get put in! Or at least you got a nice shiny new FireBlade or something :lol:

Yes, Mat, the shaky camera thing was something we were experimenting with early on in the first series - It was a bit epileptic for sure early on. We've toned that down for the second series. Honda too are really supportive, and that's why they get the ads. Without Honda - especially early on, there wouldn't have been a show. The second series has attracted a bigger group of sponsors, which is heartening. They do give me bikes on loan whenever I want which is cool, but I can't keep 'em! We are filming a seg. at Winton shortly with Mick Doohan, Krusy Ferg. and Josh Brookes - I'll be riding the race bikes and we'll be giving you guy (viewers) all the info on them, as well as talking to those guys - should be cool.
SBS is defintiely where we want to be. The show will evolve and probably tighten up a lot. At this stage we are learning what works and what doesn't. That means your mess ups are very public! SBS needs a show that reflects car culture in Australia - that's what we're aiming for.
And yes, That show you speaking about (JS Vs God) was the one I was referring to. Ha Ha - you didn't like it. That's cool, as most people I have spoken to have agreed with your opinion. I loved it personally. Hey - it's a free country!
