hey guys, anyone have any opinions on a s14 200sx as a car? Every day drive and so forth. I though I would rather ask a non nissan forum as it would be a bit biased, although it is probably the opposite here :)

thanks in advance
Lee

the s14 is a great car, If I wasn't a subaru man, Id own one. Nissan boys have it easy.. easy HP, stronger box stronger diff.

just keep it rice free if you want any respect on the street.

no body kit, ghey rims, and 100 bright blue guages...

s14 sleepers are tops, stock on the outside and 500HP on the inside. they should all be like that. :wink:

One big downside to them is interior space, or lack thereof.
Stuff all room for any rear passengers and not much more in the front either.
They go well though, had many a good run with 200sx's.

I would rather a subaru, as that is what i own now, but a RS is a litle old for what im after, and the B4 is out of my price range. I would love AWD, but cant have everything.

As for rice, no thanks. I would rather spend the cash on mods like strut braces, coil overs etc..... Im not a fan of draging, I much prefer corners :twisted:

foresters dont turn, they turn over.. :roll:

get yourself a gen2 or gen3 RX 2.5. spend your money on suspension, and when you have the dosh, upgrade the engine/driveline. its an easy enough upgrade.

you could buy a cheap WRX, but I wouldn't, cause I dont like em! :lol:

:DD :DD Too true.
I have plenty of proof of that out the back. :wink:

Gen 2 with a turbo conversion and good suspension and tyres is the car your after.

AWD... TURBO can anyone one say GSR??

I would love the S14, no room, reliability plus, and easy power extraction.

The options are out there........

the only prob wit the gen 2 is that im not wanting to spend lots of cash on my car, if i got the s14 i would keep it close to stock.

Good fun cars, I went from RS to 200SX, and I found it a bit more "sporty" as well as more fun.

theres a dumped forrester w/ chromes and cannon just around the corner from my place....

i've got a silvia now and they are damned nice, but.... theres just no god damned room inside them. when im older and actually need the space its RS hoy.

Except 2 of them are good:
1. Lancer Evolution
2. Pajero

Evos are very good cars but their price are sky high......

I've had a lash in an S14a and holy crap that thing was a RUSH of a drive!!! :D :D :D

Power delivery, accelleration, handling and braking is superb but interior space is very limited but overall if it suits your lifestyle then i say definitely buy one. ;)

"itsabitshit" :lol:

I think the votes sway in favor for rather than against.

Its funny because on another forum where i asked the same question alot of ppl where dissing them, saying crap handeling, no power and the like :? . One thing I did get from most ppl is the lack of space, but that def doesnt bother me.

Thanks heaps guys, cya out on the road :twisted:

Hell yes ! I absolutely love the cc lancer gsr's ! unreal cars.. very simple mods yield very good times.. they handle nicely.. look great.. however interior is let down a lot..

As for nissans.. s14's are great cars.. with a lot of headroom for mods.. however s15's is where its at.. I absolutely love them !!

S14's = Drift fun. Not the quickest in stock form, but still alot of fun.

A good friend of mine is building one atm, going for 400+kws atw, you'll most likely see it at the Final battle or whatever its called in December. It'll be a fun drive...

My brothers got a s14a which we tinker with and they are great / cheap to extract power out of . Markmcrs knows as on the roll its got good power ( no match off the line though) . As for a quick car in the twisties there really struggle to stay with the RS as the 4wd just puts its power down better so unless there is a big straight hes car has which has about 40 more rwkw than my RS cant stay with it in the tight corners.

drift = 200sx
grip = RS

your decision

Yeah they are great cars, my mums got one, or should i just sold one, 2001 s15, it went really good. if you get one u need to get the one that has the the variable cam timing black top motor, i think they are the 1997 ones on, they have that agressive front on them. the motors in them are really easy to get power out of, and as for the space issue, meh. :lol:

Cheers
