Two of my brothers are running this year in my Dad's Legacy RS - Steve driving with Glen navigating. They should do quite well, wrt to the other VRC crews, as Steve adapted to the legacy fairly quickly at the Akademos (didn't get a stage time though as he snapped a rear arm :()
First time ever running ROM for any of us so it is very exciting!
(Dad ran the C5 Rally in the Valley in his RX-2 in 93? so it isn't quite the family ARC debut)

Yep we are running the EVO6.5 in this one. Home event so we are looking forward to a good result in the VRC section on the Saturday. Then we'll try and compete with the big boys on the Sunday!!!
For those wantin to spectate Saturday- the Don road stage is running DOWNHILL so the speccy point should be a ripper (we go through twice).
Spectating Sunday - the best spot is the 'Kalatha Camp' area in the Toolangi forest. Crews enter the same location 4 times, heading in two different directions. There is also the DeBortoli Winery super specials for the sooks to scared to get a bit of dirt on their cars!!
Friday Night we are doing a publicity start at Fed square... basically we trailer the car in, drive it over the start ramp, the trailer it home :? . You get a good chance to see the cars and talk to the drivers (or more importantly the Co-Drivers :P )
Cheers, Matt L

Getting excited, and I'm not even competing.
The legacy apparently is looking really good with the new signage, and Steve has to going in with some extra confidence after last weekend :D

I should be on a road closure this year on Sat. Then I'll have an officials pass for Sunday... but don't think I can make it on that day... :(

Steve ran last weekend as well (Blue and red corolla) - in fact he came second outright =D> Best finish ever
Ran every clubman round last year (and this) with some combination of a white legacy RS :D (Dad), Blue/red corolla (steve), yellow/blue corolla (Glen) and black leone (myself). Both corollas are quite photogenic as they both drive maniacally.
The ROM is going to rock!!!!! Hopefully I get a chance to spectate some between servicing

Raynman,
I have pics and video footage of your Bros in action, I also have footage of getting them back on the road, I was one of the guys that was jumping in the boot.
It was a good weekend, had lots of fun.
I will be putting video clips up on the next this week, and my mate will be posting pics aswell. I will post the link for you.

Thanks absolutely heaps - we had a very unfortunate incident where my other brother (the one not competing) decided to try and delete a video of the wrong car. In turn he deleted the whole memory card  . (There was a reason I told him not to delete stuff)
We will be trying to recover it as I have a friend who is a camera expert, but anything else is appreciated. I hope we can get some of the stuff from the Friday night start as that stuff is basically irreplacable (noone else would have taken it).
If anyone has anything let us know. (BTW Noogie - youre not young Michael from Saga are you?)
They had a good event, but obviously without dramas - the previously mentioned incident, and they had fueling issues all weekend.
It turns out Steve drives it a LOT more sideways than Dad or the previous owner, and when the tank got less than half full it kept cutting out on left corners (cost them a very high place in the VRC segment - 3 minutes). They are fitting a new larger tank with baffles and looking at a swirl pot.
Great weekend, good fun and a really good experience. Steve even has some fans - he gave out a few autographs on the weekend :). (Some eight year old girls allegedly went "Ooooh, the tiger car! Can I get an autograph" )
I really hope someone got the jump at deBortli last time around. He told Dad he wasn't going to back off, and my word he didn't! Got some serious air time.

Just had a quick look at the results, if not for his unfortunate incidents he would have finished 7th on day one and 2nd on day he would have been "unofficially" 2nd. But that's rallying.
BTW - WTB Series 1 liberty passenger front guard and headlight, prefer in white but colour unimportant

Hey Raynman,
I was on Stop Control 12/17. The Legacy was one of the sweetest sounding cars all weekend (didn't see it on Sat as I was on ss9).
The guys in the Charade that they chased out of ss17 didn't seem too keen on having the Subie breathing down their neck.

The official results say that Tim ended up DNF because of a broken gearbox. I really hope that isn't the case as I know how expensive they can be :(
BTW - Thanks heaps

Can get you a head light for $135 + postage from Adelaide.
Or, I think we have a series one light with a couple of clips broken that secure the light to the body - nothing major and it will be alot cheaper.
Will get a pic for you if you're interested.
I may also be able to get a passenger front guard as well - will have to check on price. Then there is postage cost from Adelaide which won't be cheap.
Mark.

Yes Timmy broke the Albins gearbag... he's been stressing about it since he bought the car so I guess it did well to last nearly the whole season. Congrats to Steve and Glen on a great drive on effectiveley their first drive of a 4wd turbo.
The BLAST rally team have now had two shockers in a row! The spring 200 ended up in a blown head gasket (which was caused by overheating right from the start line). ROM started with us loosing up to 2 seconds per km to the leaders over the first 3 stages leaving us 35 seconds behind the leaders thanks to a very dodgy tyre choice (wrong brand!).
Bolting the Yokohama's back on at service saw us able to recover 20 of the lost 35 seconds, but only enough for 5th VRC reducing our championship lead to zero!
Sunday was an absolute blast (no pun intended) as we set out to chase the big boys. We managed to set 4 top 10 ARC times but lost out to two punctures. We set the 5th fastest time on DeBortoli with a BIG jump, but in the process managed to wreck an intercooler, exhaust manifold and rear driveshaft! Decided to pull the pin before we destroyed anything else!
A couple of photos below of the Raymond's Legacy (with sexy pussy on the side :P ) and the Blast Evo 6.
Cheers, Matt

What is it with the Albins gearsets and breakages. I know that Damien Perkins broke the albins box in his subaru as well.
(Heres hoping the MRT gearset holds up)

Forgot to mention - those pics come from Andrew Scott of www.asphotos.com.au . He will send you a CD of Hi-Res pics of you car (everything that he took) for just $5 per car. You have full rights to print, blow up etc etc and use for media releases, proposals etc as long as you 'credit' him for the photo.
As far as the gearsets - Tim is hoping that it might just be another selector issue... if not i'm giving him PPG's business card (shameless sponsor plug!)
Cheers, Matt

$5!!!! I'll definately let Dad know.
If it wasn't for the whitches hat that bottom one would be a definative photo
Hopefully it isn't the selector issue that Dad had with his standard RS box - it selected two gears at once. Cost him a bit more to get an interlock.
