minor, got 2 quotes, said they were going to inspect the vehicle, but at the last moment didnt' bother, authorised the cheapest quote and had the repairs done.

AAMI are much better to deal with than their underwritten counterpart (just cars)
if you are the insured and you are claiming against your policy then you shouldnt have an issue. if you are 3rd party and are claiming against someone else's policy there will be delays, and you may get stuffed around.

Had comprehensive insurance with AAMI on my other car and had the front end reversed into by a 4WD. Got them to sort it all out and the car was fixed within 2 weeks.

we have 3 cars in our family done by AAMI, havent had any probs with them
im with TCIS cause ammi wouldnt cover me, cause i have to many mods, and TCIS was cheaper with a modded car than a stock car with aami, but thats 4wd insurance, i wont get into that here
but havent heard any bad things about AAMI, guy smashed into my mums c'dore was with aami and we had no probs, i have heard things about just car not paying out cause you have a pod filter or something like that
if you are with AAMI or are on anyway policy that is with AAMI, do the skilled drivers course if you are under 25, get 10% off and its a pretty good course for $0, not defensive driving, but shows you what could happen with speed, following to close to cars etc, and its free as well :P

Ive used AAMI for my cars and they have been great , no issues in paying out ( has to be their repairer though) . Will use them for the next car.

I have used Shannons for my claim and they were great. All the parts that went onto my car were brand new & geuine including the radiator. Mind you the prang was not my fault but the party at fault was and they were through AAMI. $12500 later I now have a 2 massive stone chips in my nice new paint work.

i got hit by a 4wd who merged onto me on the highway.., decent sized scrape and dent on rear pasenger side quarter...
took it in, got sent home in a taxi, got it back a week later COVERED in overspray... little white dots on every single part of the car, especially noticeable on the black trims of the car, also the car was filled with that workshop dust crap, which is still sitting in the vents of the car
took it back and all they were doing to do was send it back to the same workshop... i dont think so!!
So no, not happy, also they changed their policy on what 'modifications' are, when i signed up you could have one 'modification' and now they changed it to 'cosmetic modifications' without any written notification to tell me this, so now i have to find another insurer or i can't have my king springs...

Suncorp allow lots of mods on an RS, even with an under 25 driver. Give them a try.

Yes but will not do an agreed value. When I heard that, thats when I hung up the phone.

mrs smashed her 323 (not at fault) and AAMI paid for towing, taxi from there back home, organised all repairs and gave her a time and date to pickup which was spot-on
couldn't do better i reckon
also i have heard that they offer a defensive driving course for free to under 25 policy holders

Our subie has been insured with Shannons for 4 years - the only ones that wouldnt slug us for have mods on the car. Not many will....
We have only claimed once - for someone who backed into the car - punctured the radiator/heat exchanger etc and drove off - aka Towbar...
$3500 damage - no questions asked. Its just a shame that we didnt get a decent workshop to do the work GGGGRRRRRR
Very happy with Shannons - will stick to them.....

driving down the street, very bright from sun, windscreen starts fogging up, put the aircon on full, windscreen fogs up compeltely, think shit, i better stopBANGCRUNCHSQUEEL
i hit a frigging 10 ton dump truck which was parked on the side of the road (takes up half the road, had it been a normal car i would have missed it)
car dies.
radiator twisted and pushed back onto engine block, bonnet bent up in half and ripped a hole in itself, windscreen cracked, roof warped, glovebox cracked.
couldn't get the bonnet off to assess particular damage underneath.. write off anyhow.
lesson is, if you havn't let your car warm up to get rid of moisture in morning you're an idiot.
ps. i am ok, i had my seatbelt on, was in shock for about 6 hours, my legs still hurt, i think i bumped my head on the sun visor and my arm is a little sore.

roar thats fucked. i know the feeling of wrighting off a car. i killed my parents imprezza gx going 110 down yanko rd, car bottomed out, spun around and hit a telegraph pole had 2 other mates in the car, we are all so lucky. it was the dumbest thing i have ever done, would never have been able to forgive myself if they died and i lived.
