I am looking at buying 91 RS from a dealer in Sydney, it is currently on Trading Post. The rego is AFK-70V. Does anyone know the old owner of it or seen it around. Ad says there is no mods but would like to make sure before i check it out.

That would be this one .... http://carpoint.ninemsn.com.au/DesktopDefault.aspx?UsedCarID=436895&TabID=3328&Al ias=carpointau

It looks fairly clean and good kms, however id say he's got a bit too much on it, i think there was talk about it previously on the forum, its owned by the dude who owns the car yard and i dont think he is in any huge hurry to sell it, but if you could get it for a good price ..... $13k-$14k??? it would be a good buy, but definatly get it checked out by a third party before you buy just to make sure :)

Good luck with it!

i think its at $15800, and would probably come with some kind of dealer warranty. i thought this would be a reasonable price seeing as though it only has 120000km and appears to be untouched in the mechanical department.

If anyone else has bought an RS recently, what price did you pay for it and how many kilometres?

Has anyone looking to buy been to see this car?

I really want to buy soon, and want a nice clean car. So if any one went to see it, and turned it down because it was too high in price, please share any info you have on it.

He says someone is coming over from Perth to see it this week, but I reckon he's probably full of s#!t.

Ughh have you had a look at it? Get it checked out by a third party, and then talk prices .......

I bought mine about a month ago and paid $12,600 that was with a RWC it had just over 180000kms. It was fairly standard just a 2.5" zort and air filter, and some stereo bits, most of which i have changed now. Ohh and mines a 1991 model too.

I bought mine about 11 months ago now, 11 months yeterday infact.

I paid 14K for mine, totally stock with 104,000 k's. Mine is a late '93 model sedan with ABS, sunroof, factory CD and Leather interior.
It also has the head upgrade.

I'd say this one should go for around 13K

As above - the car is owned by the owner of the yard.

I went to the yard in April expecting to be able to look at it and found that it was kept garaged at the owners home and only available for inspection by appointment to avoid test pilots.

It had been for sale for some time prior to April and his asking price was $17,500 when I first noticed it.

hey

for a stock RS in that year im sure u can find much better example around. Not sure on what the going price is for one of these in ur state but it seems way over priced for age and for the amount of mods etc.

but if its what u want id have it checked out by a third party and take it from there. may even be able to bargain with him.

Sorry to dig up an OLD post, but thats just my point. This
RS is still for sale on carpoint. Its got good k's and looks to be in good nick. Why has no-one bought it yet. I realise the price is higher than average but surely someone must have been interested???
Anyone have any info, I might go check it out on the weekend.

hey chris,
i think Joel looked at this one and from what he said.. im guessing it is mint. This was a couple of months ago now. new tyres, near stock, not a scratch or a chip.. interior was/is immaculate.. and like its been said previously.. the bloke that runs national car connection owns it and it is not kept on the yard.. if you want to see it you will have to let him know.

Remember, dealers aren't stupid. If it was modified (like an exhaust, pod etc) then he would take the modifications off to sell it more easily so a "stock" car at a dealership doesn't mean a lot.

please rallyeee.... I worked in many dealers and we never made the car stock again. these days a dealer cant afford to be slack otherwise they can cop a lot of trouble

and it looks like theres a boost guage and a turbo timer in the 3rd pic - not necessarily evidence of "mods" as such but it does raise the chances a bit.

Sorry, what I should have wrote is that maybe the car was modified and maybe the dealer removed the modifications to sell the car more easily. Not saying that all dealers are dodgey or anything (my dad was one for over 20 years) but some are. I've gone and looked at cars that I could tell had certain modifications that had been removed for the sale, both at dealers and private sales to be honest.

I'm sure you probably never did make a car stock again but as a dealer you can't get in trouble for removing modifications from a car, you're just not supposed to lie about it always being stock if you did remove some.

my searching for an RS is now long gone guys. This guy just wanted way too much, well above the current market value. is he still asking the same price?

He's asking 15999 I think. It looks like a nice car to own, but at a high price.

National car conections is where i saw that apparently flicked black RS. Speedo said 168 and the service sticker said 240k, just doesnt add up.

I d be wary of that car, just from what i have seen in that yard, Oh and i dont think its at his house anymore cause it was on the lot last time i was down there.
