First of all, Welcome to the forum.
I'm sure alot of the guys on here would like to know more about your car's features and apperance.

As for your question, there may be a spec listing of the figures you are after and someone on this forum may be able to provide them for you but you could hardly take them as gospel.
For starters if your car has the original Jap spec ECU it will most likely be suited to higher octane fuel than is available in Australia thus you will lose a little performance there.
Make sure you run no less than 98 octane PULP.
I would also look at getting your car on a dyno to check Air/fuel ratios and the amount of boost you are running (assuming you don't have a boost guage fitted yet).
It would also give you a better idea of how much power your car is making now than what it was making from factory.
Do you know what turbo it is running? It is listed on the turbo's comp housing usually.

Mark.

Yeah some pics would be good, BTW a RS STI was never made, There were RS type RA's made that were tuned by STI but arnt actually STI's. Do you have a gold intercooler and cam covers? and RS-RA badges, no air-con, no stereo and should be in white or black

Sounds like it could just be ryced up with Sti bits. I am gathering the black turbo refers to the TMIC.

He would know if he was driving a RS RA, totally basic interor and the lack of sound deadning and under coats make them loud to drive and feel like some kind of early 90's mitsi (cough cough EVO 1-3).

Quick question, how much power does the RS RA have??

AWD_1993
8th November 2004, 12:49 AM
RS-RA should have 165kW compared to the standard 147kW for the standard RS. (ie: 200HP vs 220HP)

Some information on the RS-RA can be found here ;)
http://www.decal-co.com/out-flat/variation-e.html

It also answers the question on RS vs GT ...

In October, the same year, RS-R is added in accordance with a debut of GT which is a turbo car of a wagon (and 4AT version of sedan RS).

whitey

18 kW is actually 24 hp its just he rounded the RS to 200 hp its actually 197 hp and the RSRA to 220 when its actually 221 hp.

And ther you have it 4 more hp.

Jap RS isnt 147 KW, normal RS is rated at 220 hp (GT is 200HP) RS RA's have 170kw+ (the first WRX's had 180 odd)

(the first WRX's had 180 odd)
they were 160kW....down 4kW on the outgoing RS but with a lighter weight had slightly better performance...

WRX STI was 191kw STI version 2 was 203KW and version 3 the full 206 (aswell as base WRX).

gyno

the rs-ra is fitted with a wrx turbo and gearbox anyone know what power and performance I can expect it is in perfect condition

EJ20TMAN

RS RA never had a "WRX" turbo

gyno
19th November 2004, 06:12 PM
thats right dude the owner told me he modified it. he claims it improved performance and reliability which is why I was curious about the power and performance of a stock rs-ra for comparison.he has also fitted a custom music system which kinda negates some of the weight advantage...
:x
