Yes I will agree. For once it wasn't just about who ended in what qualifying position. I happen to think it's good that Ferrari is not caning everyones ass at the moment, but in saying that each season seems to be a two horse race. (pardon the pun)

Thats was one of the best races for years last night!!!! Sorry Jarrod but Ferrari really did cane everyone's ass last night, being a full 2 seconds a lap faster witha full tank of fuel and Schuey jumping form 12th to 3rd during pitstops was nothign short of spectacular. I love to see Schuey win but full credit to Alonso for driving a perfect defensive race at the end... he held Schuey off very well by holding him up in the middle of the corner where he couldn't do anything about it. Alonso is a definite up and comer for the title. Can't wait for a race on a track where passing is more possible and to have Schu and Alonso in a similar speed cars and see a real battle. Just imagine how boring the race would have been if Schu hadn't made that mistake in qualifying and started 13th though.... he'd have left them for dead!

Im always watching the F1 and hate shue with a passion ( dont like his brother either) but credit where it is due he would have flogged them if he didnt stuff it up in Q2 . However he was lucky ( as always) as that POS toyota of trullis basically held the bloody field up until shue caught up to them . Piss that car off the the cars would have been stretched over a large distance making it impossible for shue to even get in the points .

You can see why webber basically had to risk falling off the track ( twice) in order to get a run at trulli as shue in a car lapping at least 2 secs quicker than alonso still couldnt get passed the ailing renault.

ac ( webber for PM :) )

Point taken, but podium postion was what I was talking about.

I think If Schumacher had more balls he'd do what Valentino Rossi did and change to a different (weaker) team and prove that it is his driving and not the fact that he is in the best team with the best car.

I'm aware this has been debated before but I think it is the single worst thing about F1 is that it is so team driven, and it seems to go in splurts, Williams dominates, then passes on to Mclaren, then Ferrari has their turn and now renault seems to have a monopoly at the moment.

They may be changeing rules to try to counteract team dominance and I don't have any good ideas on how to improve it so I really shouldn't criticise too much.

I think he definitely knows it's not just his "talent". This is also probly the reason why he never lets anyone of any quality (read unsubservient) as his co-driver......

Ummm he did do exactly that when he joined Ferrari... they were doing nothing and floundering midfield at best when he joined them from a world championship team. And the people that went to Benetton the year after he left couldn't replicate his lap times in the exact same car.
Schuey went from winning 8 races in 1994 and 9 races in 1995 with Benetton to 3 in 1996 with Ferrari, 5 in 1997, 6 in 1998, 2 in 1999 before finally becoming dominant in 2000. So he was hardly in the dominant team.
Yes he has had very good machinery the last few years but what has been telling is a) Ferrari reliability which no-one else has matched, and to finish first, first you must finish, b) even when they weren't the fastest, quite obivously in some cases, they have won races through good driving and excellent pit stop strategies and c) they have the best driver.
Remember as well that it hasn't been a whitewash each year he has won, there have been some very close seasons.... while i love Schuey I'd rather see him finish second and have an awesome drive than romp away and win by miles and miles though.
