im thinking about doing a trip to QLD around the beginning of July and am on the search for some good accomidation. Holiday parks would be great as they seem to have the holiday buzz surrounding them :)

something that is located close to the theme parks and the city would be tip top if thats possible and pref in brisbane , although i will be stopping in the gold coast too

so i anyone has some good recommendations then let me know

ps.. a cruise better be organised as well

don't bother with movie world, its crap. although its a place you can say you've been to :?

the theme parks are about 40 mins south of the city with sea world the furtherest from the city probably an hour away, as far as accomodation goes, if you want to see the theme parks  , stay on the gold coast, and well if you want to see brisbane :? 8-[ ummm, stay in brisbane

hey dave.....i stayed at Seaworld Nara resort in between moving houses. gives you free entry into Seaworld, with direct entry into the park....you can go in as many times as you want from memory.....we did it 3 days in a row  its not exactly cheap to stay at nara but not too expensive, and the accomodation etc is ok....plenty of stuff to do there
http://www.seaworldnara.com.au/ <--- check out the specials :P

food for thought.

for holiday purposes you would be better off staying on the gold coast IMO....cos yes all the theme parks are down there.

I went up to QLD earlier this year, stayed on the sunshine coast in noosa, very nice. Its got a wikked holiday vibe and very relaxing, just chilled on the beach and in pools and that kinda shizzle all week. Ive also been to Seaworld and Movieworld, but after a day, i was kinda over it, and this was when i was younger too.

Id consider the sunshine coast, and you can go and visit al too :P

the theme parks are something you have to see once, just to say you've been there.....they're ok, but nothing too flash....
if you're up for a holiday park, try "Garden Vale" at Oxenford http://www.toptouristparks.com.au/ParkDetails.asp?jump=5&ident=gvale, my wife's uncle and aunt have permanent accomodation there and it seems alright.....very handy to theme parks and close enough to Southport/Surfers & Brissy if you want to travel further....
