Hey,

I saw a pic on here yesterday of SPESHAL b4 it was prototype. And I can't seem to find it now. I was just wondering if anyone has a pic of it with the gunmetal 5 spoke rims and/or knew what type of rims they were?

Thanks.

I'm fairly sure it never had gunmetal rims, only gold ;) The Gold 18's were Mak6's.

the rims were definately gold, but a dark shade of gold. the rims are now on a dark-charcoal RS in Perth and still look damn nice on that car.

Gotta love how dumped that thing was

almost the perfect ride height, just a little more lower in the back and it would be absolute perfection!

funnily enough just after I saw the pic of this car today, went for a drive (work related stuff) and saw an identical pair on a green GT wagon parked up next to some shops, didnt suit the car as much as the one above.

as far as I now the members rides thread is back up and running now, I posted some pics of my car a few days ago ....

4th August 2005, 03:17 PM
I beleive he had coilovers.

The car had a few engines, was maiking a fir bit of power. I beleive he blew up the origional engine and got a TT engine rebuilt for it that was less powerful.

Wicked car used to have it on my desktop, looks better in those pics than later on and currently when it was repainted all white imo.

Wheels are 18x8"

He had some coilovers on that ride, and in all those pics it is completely wound down. I think they might of even been group4's...

Don't even think about getting those rims under the guards without rolling em and a bit of neg camber tho christuffa!

And naif, no the roads aren'nt that nice over here ;) Helloooo scrapesville!

thanks boys, but how can they be mak6 wheels. These are six spoke from all I can find on the net?

Adrian

Coilovers were Hot Bits brand

the owners current car is even lower than this one if you can beleive that...

nice mate!

the pic in the avatar is for real and hasnt been tampered with (see below). suspension is a little more practical these days tho and the US-imported 17" twisters are long gone

yeah fully river-hacked, stripped and burnt and left in a riverbed ;( insurance paid for a lesser RS, so kinda ripped off. sorry to hear about you're silvia mate, these scum need to be drawn and quartered.

yuo get a better engineered car and looks heaps better than a legacy RS.

Each to there, own, but I agree with Paddo, an 01, is going to handle the mods alot better than the legacy, or look at doing the mods to a 01 B4, now that would be crazy

as in the build of the car.
The engineer deference between a car built in 92-93, to a car built in 01, is pretty massive.
Yes you car will be be quick with what you are going to do to it, there is no doubting that.
But an 01 car, will feel a lot more stable, and solid with the same mods.
Either way, that just my opinion!!

2l_milk

Yeah for sure a newer car feels better But i don't think it matters what year it is if u spend 40k on a engine u will loose alot of it in re sale :)

I hear ya, I have considered it mate but in the end if you like something why change for the sake of being practical? its not going to be a practical car ;) its going to be a weekend toy.

Regardless if you mod it or not, you are going to loose money.
doing the same mods to a 13 year old, you are still going to loose money.
If you are concered about that, then you wouldn't mod any car ;)

yep, once I've achived what I want to achive with this '92 then it will probably get the flick for a later model subaru, or a late 80's RB26, or even a 70's holden!

theres no need to be 'loyal' to a car sepsis. and mickey's right. you would appreciate the newer model alot more, and see that the chassis dynamics and build quality are far superior to the legacy.

i think you should go and test drive one, just to see how it handles in stock form, and what you think of it..

all those annoying rattles that you get in your car (and dont say you havent got any coz we all know you do!) are gone in a newer model car!

my argument is that here in NZ every man and his dog has a WRX, and I'm not overly keen on a lot of the newer legacies (ok the new 05 lib you guys have is pretty nice) but I dunno, I will explore my options when the money is finalized and in my account. might have to take you're advice and test drive a few to get some perspective.

haha yes the rattles, this is driving me up the wall (I have about 3 or 4 differant dash rattles all across the rpm range at the moment)

the shody quality of the interior on this rs might make me look elsewhere, such a shame I lost the old one as it was mint (besides wind noise coming from drivers side window)

cheers paddo
