truetrue, need a bit more power to rip 4WD skids tho, and harsher on other driveline components

hes been through a fair few sets of tyres so far with this setup so its no doubt holding up to the punishment.

I always like to see a good burnout and the boxer just seems to have the right tone for it!! I reckon the best would be to have the DCCD box with modded electrics so you could aportion all drive to the rear for such activities!

Hey guys. Cheers sepsis for posting these pics!
Yea, it'l make a few more kw at the wheels now it's only RWD, It doesn't have to drive the front wheels (no cv's to spin either).
I tells ya, RWD is HEAPS more fun! I do miss the grip of 4wd at times but definatly no regrets.
And to see the look on other wrx/evo etc drivers faces when I light it up at the lights-Priceless! :)

Hey guys,
Good to see the post resurected!! Ok, to answer your questions.
Does it feel faster? well, yes I think so. definatly not off the line tho haha.
If you nail it off the line on dry tar 1st is just instant squeeling tyres and rev limiter. 2nd is pretty much the same but once it gains traction in 3rd it pulls pretty darn hard. Harder than it used to as a 4wd.
As far as removing the headlight goes, I've got a pod filter sitting in behind the headlight.
When I had it at the drags at meremere about 18months ago (when it was still 4wd) it was running consistent high 13's. 13.8-13.9 sec 1/4 miles. Then I removed the headlight and my next run was a 13.5. That was an easy .3second 1/4mile power gain! It's a shame all modifications aren't so easy! Alltho the police may not be so happy with this mod.
I've yet to return to the drag strip with it RWD'd. Will do soon tho!
Cheers

these rims are a popular choice on RS's here in NZ, I see them everywhere (sorry grampi), but they do look sweet for sure.

That sure is low! Yea the Sektas are pretty common over here but they are a pretty sweet wheel. They're made by motoform. Just had mine painted up a gunmetal grey with a fleck of silver. look abit different now. Well, my RWD RS now has a locked rear diff too. That makes two locked diffs in the one legacy/liberty heh heh. not quite up and running yet but will be by the weekend. Sweeeeet!
