good on you tomo, hope you set a new world record for a RS down the strip.

He has to catch Chris before he can go past him. I like this friendly rivalry going on. I will be watching both cars when they hit the road again

Just to let you know I have never set out to bet Evade Iam doing this for myself and no one else.
My mission in life is 10's in the old RS and I will run these times sooner than latter but first I have to pull some easy 11's and than lets look at giving David khoreys RS a hurry up. As far as the EJ257 it still runs the semi closed deck block with rods and pistons done tied down by a ARP headstud kit the motor was built buy AL and seems to be going well so far. 8) 8) 8)
My plan is to drive the car preety much only on the weekends so I dont rake up the kms on the 257 run low Boost of around 14PSI 200+KW ATW most of the time and when night times comes or the drag strip I will be running 22-25PSI of Boost for big power....  Look I know that the EJ257 is a ticking time bomb with its waffer thin bore liners and its semi closed deck design but Iam willing to push the limits TO GO FAST...
 And to me thats the right attidude to run my goal times.
YES IAM A NUT WASTGATE DUMPED TO ATMO ASWELL............. :P
Pics soon............................. 8)

TOMO it sounds great matey. 300kW's at the wheels is to die for. keep us posted.

Awesome stuff TOMO. Its thread like this that wants me to take my car to the next stage.

Is the 300kw@wheels goal on pump fuel or race fuel? With a GT35R you should be able to make bout 280 on 22psi and pump fuel.

It also might be worth considering billet drive shafts if your going to keep it manual.

Yeah definately dump the wastegate to atmo. You will never get sick of the sound. Have had mine dumped to atmo for a few months now and love it

300kw atw..... HOLY SHIAT!!! . what about the rest of the drive train.... box, shafts diffs etc.... they will all go much much after a few quick launches and flat changes!!!

NICE!!!! & HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!

Tomo,

I say you should bring it down to sydney when its finished and have a drag (legal of course) with evade.

imagine THAT PEOPLE !!!!! IT WOULD BE BETTER THEN ORIGIN!!!!

Mickey
12th August 2005, 09:35 PM
Do a Tomo Vs Evade trip around Aus

Now that would rock!!

rs guy
12th August 2005, 09:43 PM
yeah what box you got behind that motor
and yeah i thought that ej257's were the
bomb and real tough and what to use if you
want low times??????? see the fastest wrx
runs one(sorry to get off the subject) what diffs you running to handle such big launches
sounds so sweet. one more question for my
personal intrest do the ej257's bolt straight
in or do you need to mod mounts and stuff etc

Mickey
12th August 2005, 09:49 PM
Straight bolt up dude ;)

TOMO
13th August 2005, 09:16 AM
The car runs a PPG box straight cut syncro if it breaks I will just fix it as its not so bad on $$$$ to fix.
I have done over 100,000kms on my stock driveline its has showed bar the box how tuff the subby driveline is,
if I break it I will replace with good stock units and see how it goes. :P
I have never been I big dumper so I would rather soak up the shock through my clutch lucky I have NPC-Nicks performace clutches rebuilding my clutches for free but I might have to grab Joels twin plate clutch. 8) 8)
AUTO VS MANUAL
Must admit seeing Evades car launch with the auto looks like it really hooks up but I would rather the challege with the manual box any day.
The feeling of flat shifting flying through the gears is were its at for me.. :D :DDD

TOMO
13th August 2005, 03:46 PM
I think I need some help or a girlfriend but there nothing but trouble as well.
Iam hoping full Boost 24PSI around 4500rpm so should be good off Boost with the big rear housing . 8) 8)

Mark|RST|
13th August 2005, 04:53 PM
My bet is the rear drive shafts will last all of maybe 2 passes then it's off the road again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Either way you are crazy and I know of the bug you are chasing as my job allows me to drive cars like yours and also cars with more power as well! It's very very addictive. I freakin love it!

TOMO
13th August 2005, 05:37 PM
I wonder if it will handle 25PSI............ :P

300kw atw..... HOLY SHIAT!!! . what about the rest of the drive train.... box, shafts diffs etc.... they will all go much much after a few quick launches and flat changes!!!

TOMO already has a PPG Gearbox and lots of other fruit too. No need to worry about the shafts! ;)

Love your work Tomo! 8)

Whats gonna happen with CAI and intake manifold? I reckon you'll be needing upgrades, How much power will the stock intake manifold flow without being a restriction? anyone know?

So aiming for 10secs on streets or slicks ?

A dash of NOS or antilag will get that turbo spinning up faster than a FWD turbo liberty conversion!

TOMO
23rd August 2005, 10:20 AM
The Turbo is fitted it looks huge in the engine bay this thing will have a nice note when it spools up.
The CAI is 4inch so I think it should be good for 500HP+ at the crank and the intake manifold has stayed stock.
NOS will be on the cards in the next 6months but my goal is 11.3@120mph+ and than lets look at getting a roll cage and getting really serious.....
