Heres my progress so far on my ICE, 99% down with the boot, need my other stiffening cap and the last amp to power the 12". The door pods need to be redone, not happy with em. and i should really clean the interior cos its all dusty and crap.
The boot over all:

And before any one says it no im not worried that people will come and steal this stuff cos its all secured nicely with a few tricks ive picked up, so youd have to take the whole car, 5pt immobiliser and sat tracker and all :P heh

very impressive! I am doing a somewhat similar install in my best mates maverick atm. And we are also using the jaycar response amps. Dollar for Dollar they rock!

not sure how you've attempted to wire in your capacitor but from you pictures it looks like you've run the power from the battery through it and to the amp.
it may work i'm not sure but i'd suggest this method to get the most out of it.
also a cap works best if it's close to the amp, like no more then 1 foot

thanx for the response guys, RSK that cap isnt actully connected at the moment as im waiting for its brother, the cables are there to kinda guage where itll all go but thanx for the tips. And rogg there is still plenty of room in the boot for...um... small items, but id rather them in the back seat than in the boot, nothing brightens your day more than an errant screwdriver through a sub!

Pads, im not sure how hard it was to do the doors, they guy who owned it before me did it, said it wasnt easy though (hollah at ya clint)
Elli the sound quality is great, i really do like the sound stream, they are really clear and the tweeters arent too bright. The door subs also add some from sub stage which really adds a bit to the over all coverage of sound.
And rx man im not sure, ill have to see how it sound with the 12" powered up. the 2 10's are great as it is though so maybe!
And also note, the spare tyre is still in there and can be acessed easily by lifting the board with the eq on it!

who tuned you're EQ? it looks like you've scooped out alot of low-mids which is precisely the place that a lot of car stereo's fall down (lots of thundering bass, and high end tweet, but not a whole lot in the 250hz-800hz range)
again i guess a smiley face eq's fine for some street cruising and thumping etc..

smidgy i tuned it myself, took me hours to do it and i still fiddle with it all the time. The reason i cut alot of the mid range out is because the EQ controls just the front stage. I find the soundstream 6x9's are fairly bright in the higher midrange and with the front splits adding to it it sounded really crap. Ive still gotta try and find a happy medium changing the alpines internal eq etc but as im sure u know this takes alotta time and an enthusiastic ear!

good to see your playing with it anywya! its definately not easy to make two different speakers sound good together using the same piece of air (ie. your door!) but at least with an EQ you've got a fighting chance... nice work!

Good Job Man! The 12" is a very nice addition as is the equaliser! The stereo might actually cancel out the noise that HUGE Zorst u have makes!!
