Hi everyone, just bought myself an RS from a member (mdav3).

Took delivery yesterday, and I am in love! she needs a bit of work, but everything is there for a tough street car.

My brother talked me into considering an RS, and I have to thank him for it. (he owns a liberty heritage convert and a MY99 WRX)

On the way home the RS easily kept up with the Rex, even though the lib is running 6psi and the rex 15)

Anyways some stuff on the RS I bought...

Early quad cam rex motor, Vos chip, TD05, 3" exhaust from the turbo back and some interior touches- Autometer gauges and Isotta wheel.

Have a resonator replacement pipe to go on and a few other mods planned :D

Hope you guys don't mind me getting comfy in this place, might be here for a while :P

Took a few quick pics for you all, looking a bit rally-spec atm..

Interior pic you can see intake resonator delete pipe in the passenger footwell (now on the car :tu )

Pics dont work...

The reason your RS kept up with the WRX is because of the td05 turbo.

a td05 at 6psi flows far more air than a td04 at 6psi.

considering a td05 is almost double the flow potential of a td04. At 6psi, a td05 would flow as much air as a td04 at 12psi.

hahaha, at first I thought the car in the pics was yours and it was obvious what you meant by "needs a bit of work". Anyway, congrats on the purchase. I'm extremely jealous I don't have the funds yet to buy my dream RS.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes everyone.

Pics in the first post are now fixed up.

Yeah, roof is one of the first things to be fixed (my brother is a spray painter by trade, so thats not a big issue, as it may have been for others looking to buy.) and to get rid of the retreads currently on the car.

Got the car for a steal, especially with the goodies it already has. :)

Already amazed at the amount of info on this site, you guys really know your subies!

Now that I can see the pics I must say I love the interior. It looks to be in good condition but I think the silver panels look great.

Thanks Shepp, I'm in Caroline Springs.

Thanks Herman, wasn't too sure on the silver panels when I first saw them, but they are growing on me a little. Seats etc are in really good condition, only gripe is the damn drivers sunvisor keeps falling down.. have to "adjust" that ASAP.

Sure is. It is regulating boost at 6psi, due to some kind of issue with the factory "boost controller" and the TD05. Want to change the way it is set up with a turbosmart or similar boost controller (and add a bit more boost to the equation.)

yeah the boost control solinoids sh1t themselves.

i actually thought it was doing something else apart from boost. donest matter, cant see very well.

Looks more like a tee piece for the boost guage.
TDO5's have a 9psi wastegate spring. Sure you are running 6psi? If so I would be
a)making sure it is a TD05
b)making sure the wastegate is fully closing off
c)looking for a boost leak
d)looking for an exhaust blockage.
