with the sell rate in our for sale section the way it is, is it any wonder it isnt listed! That and the fact it looks like it is being sold through a dealer.

If you are talking about that car from last week, with the HUGE 6 pot brakes, you have the wrong car. That one was black.

ooo tim, he isn't go to be happy. He wanted to gauge what people were going to give to him on ebay before he sells it. But I dunno how much he wants for the conversion???

27th October 2006, 05:06 PM
so he went to the trouble of fixing up his engine and trying to find out the original owner, only wanting to sell it now?

oh and trying to guage some info by letting it get bidded on ebay is abit of a joke...
people go on ebay for a bargain.

getting opinions of what it would sell for on ebay is a fair way of doing it. people shop for bargains. but i have made a fair amount of money off wrecking cars and selling parts on there. so certain items do go for a lot more than expected. many people have asked what the reserve is and i have not given it to anyone. i was just offered 10k for it and told the guy i would hold onto it.

if i was 100% serious about selling it would of been in the for sale section. if someone came along and offered the exact figure i had in mind or more then i most likely would let it go.

there is only one car in the country that i would sell up this beauty for. and thats for sale in qld with a 12k price tag.

dealer???? nah mate thats just the name i managed to get when i started wrecking fords for the $$ value in pieces :P

Maybe deep down he needs to sell it but knew if he advertised it on here we would all talk him out of it???

so true. so many people on here have been good to me. helping me with this or that. i would most definately have been talked out of it.

thats a shame what happened jarrod ?
so much time and effort !

its a rare car and a shame to see it covered in dust and dirt all the time from hanging around building sites. but in hindsight it will not leave my possession unless the right $$ figure is reached or offered. and if the ebay reserve is met and i have a change of heart there is always one of my boys willing to chuck down a large bid to make sure it stays with me.

so he went to the trouble of fixing up his engine and trying to find out the original owner, only wanting to sell it now?

i fixed it up mate because i had no option. daily driver needs to get me around. and selling a car with a stuffed motor = bad loss of money. only way to recoup any $$ was to rebuild it and drive it. but hanging around building sites will start to take its toll on her.

soooooo hang on a sec...are you wanting to sell it or not?
And if you have knocked back 10K then that tells me you have a fair idea what you want for it. Realistically how much do you want?

I just cant get my head around your motives on this one...seems all backward...

ive got the car running right and it destroys me to want to sell. but it also makes me think wtf am i doing, driving such a good car round building sites getting covered in crap. loading it up with tools and fittings.

in hindsight i have a price in mind for it. if that price gets reached then the car will change hands. however if it does not reach that price i will gladly hang onto it.

It seems to me that you want $12k for it right? Enough for you to buy your dream car up in Qld, it's all there in black & white guys. Nice car man, tough decision to let it go. Been there many times, i wish i could have kept about 10 of my previous 25 or so cars.

steve mate you've hit it. idealy id like between 12-13k for it. i can pickup the one in qld for 10k without the gt steering wheel. but either way if i dont get 12-13k it wont be budging from my place.

i thought MY06 STi's were 2.5lt..? how do you get
* 2L 2006 WRX STI Pistons (Hypatech Ceramic Coated W/ Teflon Imbedded Blocks). ?? ??

if you get anything over 10k you should seriously consider it...

shame you're selling it... ..

paddo the new MY06 WRX and STI's are 2.5L. mate dont ask me about them, the engine builder told me about the teflon and that when he showed me them and they are 2L ones as i only honed the bores out.

and my mate the ex/sort of currently subby rally mechanic said they were the same ones used in the new sti's when i told him about them.

on the flipside to the coin CRZYRS will be staying place. i was talked out of it by all people my best mate. who was getting just as angry as me with its little problems.

i know i will regret it for a long time if i sell it now.

sorry i am having a hard time following.. are you actually going to sell it or not?

i agree with paddo, anything over $10k as a legitimate offer you should SERIOUSLY consider. cars with alot more spent on them, in way better nick, have barely fetched more $$ and a few have been rarer wagons.

realisticly i'd say $11k (if everything on the car was in good nick) would be about right, and if an offer like that was made, you would be silly not to sell, as we all know they dont move easily.

and lastly, you will regret selling it for some V8 barge! :)

your right i will regret selling for a v8 barge, im building one at the moment :P

its great ur keeping it .i think u would regret it

paddo
29th October 2006, 06:12 PM
yeah.. still not following..
the bore and stroke of the 2.5's is different. and the 2.5 pistons have a shorter skirt... they may be the same style pistons as those used wrx/sti's but they arent the same..

its of no use now as you arent selling it, but just so you know, thats a prosecuteable offence under the trade practices act, and the ammended e-laws act with regards to selling goods online. you cant advertise something when you knowingly know it isnt that exact product.

good to hear you're keeping it.
