WRX or Liberty Rims

Ok recently i looked into seeing which Mags i like better.
And I want to know what is your first thought when you see them on the car.

i personally think
WRX ones make the car look like a cruise car
Liberty ones seem to make the car look a bit more aggressive/sleeper spec
Every car i have seen looks different with them according to the paint colour

i say keep the liberty ones, they look bloody nice,

but its hard to judge by the pics cos in the 2nd one the cars paint looks lighter

Personal preference is what really matters. Both look pretty hot, like tomee said, liberty rims are cleaner while rex rims look a bit tougher. I prefer the titanium colour rexy wheels than the silver ones.

unfortunately i don't have the liberty rims
i borrowed a brand new lib from subaru to swap and take photos

i personally like the liberty ones better
maybe because of a change and i do agree WRX rims on Liberty's are very common

Hey RSWEPON, sorry I didn't get back to you with photos of the Liberty ones on mine, would have been much easier for me to borrow the old mans than you having to go to a Subaru dealer!

Anyway, its interesting to finally see what they look like on a Burgandy RS! I like the bronze color of my WRX 17s so i'll be sticking with them for now i think.

I like the WRX ones better, one of the cars had them on todays cruise, looked good, will the Libbo ones fit over 4 pots if you decide to upgrade your brakes?????

Don't worry about what's common and what's not. Worry about what you wanna see when you get in your car everyday, what others think doesn't matter as much.

OT slightly, but what's the best price you guys have paid for either set of rims and what amount of rubber was left?

Good point about the 4 pot brakes, I'd expect they'd be OK but worth checking first, just incase of future upgrade. I reckon they both look good, but I'd go the Lib ones for 2 reasons. 1/less common 2/ easier to clean :D

i was going after the same liberty rims for a different look as the 01-05 wrx's are as common as dirt on liberty's now. but i decided to settle for 06wrx because of the price.

I think the Lib wheels are starting to look a bit too 'Bling', WRX wheels look more 'tough'.
Both look the goods though, its your choice in the end, don't listen to us.

xeon, that rs in the pic is close to perfect in the looks department......except for the lack of spoiler. spoilerless looks so sh!t. (lx conversion with boonet scoop)

I bought an RS from a member/mate in WA and it has earlier 17" Liberty rims. My mate provided me with a set of 4 pots that he said wouldn't fit with the 17's. Don't know if that applies to the later Liberty rims though.

RSWEPON, yup I'm after the sleeper look too - even gonna get a nice twin tip oval muffler instead of the canon eventually.

Anyway, when I pick up my car from the workshop later in the week I'll check if they clear my 4 pots for ya. I know earlier Lib wheels wouldn't clear 4 pots and even the 18" wheels off the Liberty 3.0RB won't clear 4 pots so lets hope these ones do!

I say the liberty rims win hands down. They look so much more at home on the car and i think alot more aggressive.

A bold 5 spoke is alot more masculine and performance invoking than the wrx 5 spoke split which adds unwanted complexity to the eye.

Besides most guys will be familar with the wrx rims and u lose 'opinion points' in that regard as they are so common but the libertys once will gain approval as they are after all from a liberty, be it a later model.

Bringing up an old thread here but I just purchased a set of 17" 06 Liberty rims - For the brand new Potenza rubber rather than the wheels themselves, I got them dirt cheap! - Anyway, I can confirm that these wheels clear 4 pots fine.

The wheels are definitely heavier than the WRX ones, I will be swapping back to my WRX wheels as soon as I get the rubber swapped over as I think the 06 Liberty rims look a bit bland on my car.

i have a soft spot for WRX 5 spoke's on liberty's, such as on Sam's car. This is what i was looking for originally but not many were available. I still think the Liberty rims look good tho....decisions, decisions.

kee the rex rims i think, the lib wheels look nice but to me they seem a bit plain, deffinetly looks tougher with the rex wheels.............. plus i have them to and jester determines who is right and who is wrong!!! :D lol
