its a habit of shops to price out jobs they don't really want to do
easier than telling you they won't do it

Whats easy is doing the job yourself ;)
And it costs you nothing :D
The coil conversion is a matter of cut and joining 8 wires and drilling 4 screws to hold the brackets down.

some people quote rediculous prices sometimes simply because they dont want to do it...
quote u a high price, makes u think this is expensive, so you will pass on the offer, means they dont have to waste time on it, if they were busy

.. or maybe they just dont know wtf a coil conversion involves. No one in their right mind could ask you to pay that much?

If someone is suppling everything and doing it for 250 it means they are working for ~ $50 all up(coils, leads, bolts, plugs supplied). $50 doesn`t get you much these days, might not get a quality job either !
$350 is a fair price drive in drive out for a Bosch coil conversion.
$600 is piss off buddy I`m busy.
