Now for sale- http://www.rslibertyclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=87520

Righto people, here is some new, current pics as promised as my car has undergone some significant changes over the last few months. Some mild customising of bodywork and underbonnet detailing.

I have carried out a fair whack of mechanical mods too (Turbo,Brakes,Suspension etc) which is all listed in the spec's below the pics.

Some serious time and cash has gone into it of late and i'm pretty pleased with the results.

I had a bit of a play on Photoshop with one of the pics which i think turned out o.k.

Enjoy,
Timmo.

lookin at a rim change in the not-too-distant future mate, just unsure of what i want.

i'm not usually a fan of chrome (especially the wheels on it at the moment) but i think its what would probably suit the car the best with the colour choice.

blingy or not i just don't like breakin' stuff.

had plenty of fun thrashing/breaking numerous V8's i've owned over the years (gearboxes, diffs etc)........this ones more a comfortable cruiser for me.

maybe i'm gettin' old too quick?

Definately. Go and break some stuff :tu :D .

I can completely understand just wanting a comfortable cruiser but there's been some money spent there for performance, kind of a waste if you're overly careful. I think you need to do some gravel donuts.

I'm not a fan of the wheels or BOV but I like the rest, it appears to be done well.

yeah as said above, wheels are gonna be changed as soon as i find a suitable replacement......

and as for the bov,its a dual port but i've got it running atmo at the moment until i get an intake pipe welded up with a port to plumb it back.i got rid of the vee port that was on it cause i'm getting over the noise real quick

thanks for all the positive feedback guys,as most of you would know, paint, rims and fmic were on it when i got it,i've just been doing heaps of underbonnet stuff (power fc,coils, bov, catch can, strut brace etc etc,the list goes on and on)and brake upgrades etc.

also a few minor things i replaced as they weren't up to my standard.(i just like things done properly) painting and detailing as it had a few scratches, and i like playing with my airbrush

redid most of the interior too as it needed it and changed the entire sound system just to neaten it up and have some good quality gear.

now to enjoy it!

I have made a few minor additions to my car over last few months or so which i thought are worthy of addition.

It is now sporting a rotated VF23 which i fitted with a Turbo Blanket,Stainless Braided Oil Feed line and Heat wrapped dump pipe.At the same time i fitted an Apexi Pod and an MRT Alloy Header Tank. All vacuum hoses were replaced,re-routed and tidied up using Turbosmart silicon items.

I also made a custom aluminium bracket for the Battery and upgraded my Dual Port BOV from 25mm to 32mm.

I got sick of the sloppy gearshift so i replaced all of the bushes and modded the shifter for a shorter throw.........massive difference!!

I also recently snapped one of my rear sway bar to chassis mounts so i upgraded them to the H/D Whiteline ones and at the same time fitted H/D Whiteline Alloy links and D bushes front and rear. The car already had 22mm front and 20mm rear bars fitted.

The brakes have since been changed to '04 WRX 4 pots and Slotted/Dimpled RDA rotors front and rear.I still have a set of Braided brake lines (cheers DJA) to go on which i'll do when my Cusco Brake Cylinder Support Bracket arrives from Nengun. At the same time i did the brakes,i did all wheel bearings and brake pads seeing as i had it in bits anyway and figured it was about time they were done.

I made up a custom bonnet scoop out of a damaged one i had (thanks naif) where i resin filled the lip that runs around the base of the scoop and removed the vertical grilles in the centre.Painted it up and fitted and it looks sweet.I just wanted a more smoother look like the Gen2/3 scoops without hacking the bonnet up.

I'll get some current pics up in the next few days as i'm still putting the car back together after i re-sprayed the passenger side due to someone scratching the crap out of it with a pushbike.

So by saying they are one thing when they are not just gets confusing...
Before you act all "I post more so I know more"
look back at your posts

I may be new to the forum but I am not new to the subaru world. This is about Timmo's ride not us.

So Timmo, I think that wheels like the mamba would look amazing on your car. Depending on cash flow a set of Prodrive GC-07 would also look tough.these ones (http://www.rampant.net.au/shop/product_info.php?cPath=22_40_52&products_id=197)

The Turbo Blanket is to suit the VF series Turbo's from www.horsepowerinabox.com

It should go pretty close to fitting a TD05,i had a look when i took my TD05 off and i think it should do it.I asked them (horsepowerinabox) when i enquired if it would fit a TD series also but they couldn't tell me as they hadn't tried it either.

The steering wheel is a MOMO Corse Pilota item.Very comfy to drive with and not too pricey either.

The appeal of a well-sorted, immaculately presented and fastidiously cared for street machine hath no end from where I position my delicate posterior. any noticeable differences with the fly?

Seems to be more responsive off-boost but not a great deal of difference in other areas.Revs drop a tad quicker between shifts.

Nowhere near the difference that some have claimed by using the lighter ~4kg aluminium flywheels but its exactly what i was after, something that did a better job than the factory unit but didn't affect driveability too much. It's around the 6.3kg mark.

I wanted to get rid of the 180 degrees worth of bends after the turbo that is associated with most FMIC installations.

Basically it just allows you to have less pipework to the FMIC core with a more direct path out of the compressor housing.

Probably makes 3/5 of fcuk all difference performance-wise but definitely neatens up the engine bay in my opinion.

Front page of this thread is how it sits today. That is the finished product. The old colour was more of a green base as opposed to it now where it's primarily blue.

It was a similar colour prior to painting,I just wasn't happy with it and decided it needed a freshen up with a bit of a minor tweak to the colour of the base.

Thanks mate.

Rims never came......got dicked around by people saying "they'll be here in 2 weeks" everytime I called and after about 3 months of waiting I gave up looking.I put my money into buying a house instead.

I may look at some new ones in the future when she's due for tyres but for the time being,it'll stay as is.

The RS still sits as it is in the pics.

I got it to a stage where i'm happy with it and now enjoy just driving it.I find it hard to part with a few grand for rims now, would rather spend the cash on my kid.

Gotta do it mate..........

Need something a bit more family friendly and capable of towing.I'd love to keep it aswell but can't justify 2 rego's/insurances etc for the minimal use it gets.

However, once it goes,I plan on satisfying my toy habit with a new Sea Doo Speedster. :)

Good times. :tu

Good call on the boat, if its got a wake tower strapped to it i got a license and petrol money and a few boards.... and a fiance that i have trained up well on how to clean the boat haha.
My liberty never gets used either, seems like everytime i get a chance to take her out its double demerits and i have to drive it like a skirt.

Yeah mate, they're great fun.Been wanting one for a while so now is the time.

As for the car,it's not really suitable for the more family orientated things I want to be doing (towing a boat, camping etc).Unlike the car, with a boat the whole family can be a part of it.The mrs is getting her licence now so we need an automatic for her to drive.Plus,I have had it for almost 4 years. The longest i've ever owned 1 car.

I have very limited space at my house so having both is not an option.
