No, the lighting was fairly low and the flash was very very bright on my mates camera. Its just the way it came out.

Some new pics I just took of the custom silicone intake I made. I made this last month, but Ive been a bit lazy updating pics. I probably should move the AFM to the guard, but since I have no intention of going to a FMIC, it can stay there for now. anyway, if I do decide to go FMIC, its a 15 min job to extend the wires and move the AFM to the guard.
In the pic you can see the MAC 3 Port Solenoid also in the original solenoid location. And my interesting way of routing the BOV plumb back into the IACV line. Strange, but it has not cause any idling issues at all. You can also see my filter vented Oil catch can. I just emptied the catch can after running it for the last 5000km and it had about 50ml of oil in it. Barely a 3 or 4 table spoons worth.

Here is a pic of the latest mod I did to the WAIC. I put in a clear vinyl pipe in the coolant lines so that I could see the flow of coolant though the WAIC system. The reason I did this is because I have been noticing lately that the WAIC wasn't running as good as it used to. Temps would climb up, but they would take ages to come back down again. At the same time I did this mod, I flush out the old WAIC coolant and stuck in demineralised water plus Redline Watter Wetter. This is what made the biggest difference to the cooling ability of the WAIC system. Instantly I got a 5C reduction in intake temps and when temps went up, they came back down again very quickly.
Anyway here is the pic.

do you have any condensing medium in the can?? such as steel wool, oil resistant foametc, to catch the oil or does it not return to the intake??
Mister Two
28th March 2007, 02:31 AM
The catch can is apparently baffled but there is no medium inside the can itself. And it does not return back into the intake. The two hoses going into it are; one from the two rocker covers and one from the crankcase.
The two from the rocker covers make SFA oil vapour as the last time I pulled the hose out to empty the can, they were very clean. However the hose coming from the crankcase was thoroughly coated in oil vapour residue.

Have you got any pics of VF28 rotated with cooler piping??

Gen2 airbox,Al's cast pipe,VF28 rotated housing,cooler piping.
But need B4WRX (Aaron) to make up a coolant bottle to fit.
Mister Two
16th August 2008, 09:58 AM
I dont have the ABS unit. So mine just has one straight piece of pipe from the turbo to under the headlights.
Used the standard washer bottle. But I had to get a smaller battery.
I'll try and get some pics soon.
claydog
16th August 2008, 10:12 AM
I've always had a Oddessey battery, just had to mount it sideways.
Would have been easier without ABS,it's pretty tight but all fits.
What size pipes are you using 2' hot side,2.5' cold?

that looks classy as in that first pic, the 17" rex rims complement it really nicely, as does the chrome handles and chrome bumper strip, top work!!

Claydog, Mitcho has a rotated VF34 and ABS on his car with the stock header tank. His FMIC piping is really neat, perhaps there's pics in his ride thread?

Hoi? No extra skirts/lips from what I can see Kieran just standard Legacy gear!
I hate you for having such a nice car :P but seriously, I'd be stoked if one day mine was in a similar league. :tu I had that photo in the puddle as my wallpaper for ages.
Neat photos too, are they you or is Phil Kitto someone else?

I usually take the photos myself. But I had the opportunity for a guy with a decent camera to take some nicer shots. Phil Kitto is a member of Perth-WRX

Update.
On the 5th on June I got rear ended on the Graham Farmer Fwy. Yes it was a young asian female. YAY for reinforcing stereotypes :p.
It happened literally 30mins after doing a 6 speed DCCD upgrade. I was planning to go to a Perth-EVO cruise and dish some chop. :p. So that plan was ruined.
Anyway. Got it back finally today from Flecters Malaga Smash Repairs. Top job they did.
While it was being repaired, the cannon rear muffler was removed for a twin 3 inch tip MagnaFlow. A bit quieter on cruise. Just as loud when you mash it. But the twin tip look is awesome for the sleeper effect. looks almost OEM.
So, new mods are:
My05 Spec C RA DCCD 6 speed gearbox. Includes an upgrade from the old Suretrac front LSD to a Torsen Helical.
Spiider Manual DCCD Controller
Changed the ECU out for a MINES Tune ECU.
Got rid of the Boost Cut lifter
Magnaflow 3" Twin Tip rear Muffler
40mm Twin Core All Alloy Radiator

Update. New Toys went on since the last update
SARD Fuel pressure regulator remote mounted near the filter while retaining the OEM Serial fuel rails.
3.9 R180 Plated 2 way LSD
GC8 R180 shafts
GDB R180 Hubs
GDB STI rear Subframe - solid metal mounts and better roll center
Whiteline Plus Rear Diff mount to suit GDB rear subframe
04 STI Brembos front and rear - Painted gloss black - sleeper stylz :)
Brand New RDA Rotors
Brand New QFM A1RM pads
STI motorsports V5/6 400mm pink rear lateral arms with pilo bearing bushes and spherical sway bar links.
Asian Tim Spec Trailing arm bushes
Agency Power billet alloy engine pitch mount
Perrin 6 speed shifter bushes
Hypertec rear strut brace
Glowshift 60mm electronic boost gauge.
04 STI 17s painted a moderately dark silver
Tyres are Pirelli Dragon 235/40 R17 94W - All weather performance tyre.
Got rid of the Rear subframe lock down kit. Not needed as the STI rear subframe already has solid metal mounts. Also got rid of the china boost gauge and AFR gauge in favour of one glowshift 60mm electronic boost gauge.
Also, those STI pilo ball bushed rear arms are one of the best handling mods I have ever done. Rear end is no longer skittish and vague. Now the whole car is more responsive and controllable. Yet, even with pilo bearings and spherical links, it makes no more NVH than before. HIGHLY recommend this mod.
Thats right you read it right. 235 tyres. And zero scrubbing and still room to spare. In fact, I'll soon have my hands on a set of 17x8s with 245/40-17s soon and give them a whirl
I'll post new photos when I get my shit together and cut and polish the fading paintwork and give it a proper clean.

Any reason why you didn't go parallel fuel rails?
Awesome list of mods.
Intimidating even!
Nice one Ludwig!
Mister Two
23rd December 2009, 03:46 PM
I only put the SARD FPR in because the OEM FPR was faulty. Couldnt be bothered doing a full parallel rail conversion at the time. Though If I had to do it all over again, I probably would do it.

Hey Ludwig where did you get your rotors from and how much if you dont mind me asking? And are they slotted or standard?
Trying to chase some up for myself, but everyone wants crack pipe prices that I'm not willing to pay.

Here we go. I finally washed my car and did my best to cut and polish the fading and flaking paintwork. Unfortunately, you can only do so much with a turd. This is the best it will ever look until I get a full respray.
Update:
I got a set of WORK CR Kai 17 x 8 +47 rims in Bronze.
Tyres are...
ready for this?...
245/40-R17 Advan R-Comps!
They are FAT! I still cant believe I manage to fit 245 wide tyres under RS guards WITHOUT scrubbing at all. And I'm not even running much camber. -1.25 up front and -0.5 on the rears. However, the guards are heavily rolled and pumped a little too.
You can see my sleeper style black brembos in the pics below too. And also how badly the roof and bumpers are faded. Clear coat has come right off.

I need time off work (which isnt going to happen in the next 1 year) to hit up the track.
Vids will be coming soon once the new clutch goes in. Current one is on its way out.
Also going to bash the China Spec cat out and get it retuned with a little more timing.
And I need to re-wrap the headers. The current heat wrap has torn a small hole.
