This is my 1992 GX Liberty. I came from WRX land originally & when child #2 came along i could no longer afford to keep it. So i started a downward spiral & bought a VL Commodore, it lasted a year before it was diagnosed with a terminal disease. I then opted for the GX Lib, originally with no intentions on doing anything with it.

It started out as a below average Automatic AWD sedan. It was a country car & was pretty filthy, inside & out. The body leaves a bit to desired but could do with a respray of at least front & rear bars & the mirrors. It's "ok" as i'll get to that down the line, would like a respray.

It developed a few problems like, leaking steering rack, blown head gasket, transmission on it's way out. Some rough calculations gave me enough to work with to justify a conversion. So over a year ago now it did the trip up to Al at Sunspares & 10 days later it was running a WRX engine & box. After a couple of gearbox problems later it was all sorted & it hasn't missed a beat since.

I've done a bit to it now, replaced the seats, STI struts & lowered springs, whiteline rear bar, front strut brace. Engine wise new bov (avo thanks Jarrod!), resonator replacement pipe, samco i/c to turbo pipe, bleed valve & a new muffler. Went through several stages of intake mods including pod filter but have ended up going back to paper filter inside stock air box with cold air feed to it. Seems to drive nicer & looks & sounds stock.

Although my car isn't as nice as many on this site i just love it to bits. I only drive it about once a week so each time i start it up I fall in love again!

I'm happy to keep it how it is at the moment but i do have plans. Mainly TD05H, 3" TBE & front mount. Coupled with a paint job i'll be pretty happy with the car. Nothing i've done or plan on doing is "way out there" but seems to have worked really well on other cars & seems like a pretty successful formula.
