Hey.

Thought I would post up my pride and joy.
Its my first car, had it for 4 months now.
I live in NSW, so therefore am affected by the turbo laws, before the laws were introduced I was looking at getting a Toyota Celisor, but because they were V8's, it was a no-go.

So I was on my way to soccer one Saturday, and spotted this out of the corner of my eye.

I had always liked these shape of Liberty's. (Back then didn't know much at all about them).

So after some research, found out it was a 1996 Subaru Liberty LX EJ22 FWD.
A week and two test drives later it was mine.
I got it for a very cheap price, with a free service ;)

Mods that it had when i first got it.
- Subaru MY02 RX Impreza 16" alloys
- Old school Clarion headunit
- Extractors
- (Ugly as) Aftermarket foglights
- OEM Towbar

Straight after i got it, i decided to focus on the sounds. Both in and out :P
- Full 2 1/4" exhaust. Sounds very loud. Like illegally loud.
Then the interior sounds
- Pioneer CD/MP3 Headunit
- 250w Clarion Competition Splits (had to make spacers for the woofers, and the tweeters are in the stock location also)
- 350w Pioneer 6x9's
- 1000w Kicker Sub (got it cheap as)
- 800w Pioneer Monobloc Amp.
Its a system that i like alot. Very good SQ, and deep bass.

This is pretty much what is it looking like at the moment., well until tomorrow. (Story underneath)

So living in Tamworth, we have the annual country music festival, so alot of big trucks come to down too. I was sitting at McDonalds one night, and saw a huge dual cab Ford F-250 come into the carpark, on its way out, i also saw it back into my car :( . It was only his tow bar, so he didn't feel anything at all, and started to drive off. So I pulled him over, exchanged details etc.

So at this stage, i was contemplating getting a full RX/GTB kit, but was convinced otherwise by a good offer from the parents at the end of the year.

So it goes into get damage fixed tomorrow. Will also be getting the black plastic down the side and the mirrors colour coded and the foglights removed.

Now for more plans:
- My01 WRX Rims (already bought some, just have to pick them up, 6 hours away, so need to have a free weekend to get them)
- Low King Springs all round
- Personalised number plates

That is all. For Now. :tu

I must say that having colour coded the black plastic bits down the side has really made the car look nicer. Well in my eyes anyway. I was going to get the mirrors coded too, but he said it was too hard to take them off, and he was painting it for free so i told him not to worry.
This month i will be poor as, have got rego and green slip coming up.
Am also in the process of buying some GT Foglights for it too. :)
Still haven't picked up my rims. Will be shortly (hopefully).

Very neat ride you have there.

It'd look hotter with a black set of rims.... ;)

Great clean looking car there mate.

we all understand what its like to be broke and you got your first car to impress your mates and possibly the ladies....???

how about trying a weekend job to paint those rims?. STI Gold, Metallic Charcoal or Black i recon,
it wont cost you much....
$10 + $30 to have tyres taken off then fitted and balanced again.
$15 for primer (grey)
$15 for paint can of your choice
=($70)
or you can save $40 and do a dodgy job by letting the air out of the tyres and masking the rims up.

its a cheap job and it will look sh!t hot!!!
