Ok random forum name because I still can't think of one and I joined ages ago just to see a video. I bought the car off my uncle, forum member: Spikey, hence my forum name.

Car has been through a fair bit (as any car has in 17 yrs) one main incident was a complete electrical fire in NZ prior to shipping...cause degreaser (long story) lol. Really nice auto box was ruined due to towing for long distance and then was converted to a manual 4.44 gearbox and diff.

At this point I decided to part with my prized R31 Skyline which had all the body modifications done, but wanted the turbo upgrade... as P platers do. Since i've had the wagon i've been very pleased and glad I switched.

Anyway some pics...

What's the future plans?

Future plans:
Not a huge lot but wanting and a solid low 14 high 13 second car...
- boost controller
- air to air top mount, wanted front mount but proly a bit too costly for me at the moment.
- colour coding lower skirts
- maybe td05

It will be a slow build as I have my final year of uni left this year and saving for wedding / house (for 2008.)

Lenso wheels???

Not quite sure of the brand of rims, they were originally from Japan but Spikey had them on his car before...

Nice one. I remember driving this car about a year back just after I got my GT. Terry was selling me a STI RA ECU and I got to test drive the ECU in this car.

I gotta say, with the 4.44 gearbox, this thing really moves. Very responsive.

Back then It wasnt in as good condition as this. Looks like you have really cleaned it up. It looks mint on the outside.

Yeah, pretty responsive car, i just need to learn how to drive it better for 60ft times...

The car did need a fair bit of TLC!!! Faded paint, scratches, dents, collapsed rear muffler (was really loud and drowny) The cosmetic things are easier for me to fix since thats what i did for my skyline. A good polish / wax brought the bland paint to the nice deep blue it has now. Was amazing how well it actually came up. But the desparate areas of the car i took to the panel beaters. I didn't mind fixing these bits up as Terry has really looked after me.

Hi guys...

Thought I'd give an update on the car as it stands.

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c206/robilim/Legacy%20Wagon/front-1.jpg

New front mount (mounted - but need to finish off piping, get a VF turbo for rotated setup - another 1-2hrs work left)

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c206/robilim/Legacy%20Wagon/gt08_rims.jpg

New Liberty GT 08 wheels... (don't clear 4 pots so might need to go again in the future)

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c206/robilim/Legacy%20Wagon/rear-1.jpg

New Wagon rear spoiler :P and color coded skirts

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c206/robilim/Legacy%20Wagon/side-1.jpg

Just a cool pic I took with my new camera.

YOU MAY also notice that I have three different sets of rims amongst the pics - my actual ones currently on the car are the Liberty GT 08s.

Pics are all a bit random as I had some time to actually work on the car in drips and drabs...

New mods:
Apexi PowerFC w hand controller
Paint on skirts/grill
Rear wing
17" Liberty GT 08s

Soon to be actioned:
440cc injectors
FMIC (finish it off)
VF series turbo
Tuning
Attend a RS liberty cruise
Another run down the quarter (beat 14.4 from my previous mods)

Got some time over the weekend with Terry to finish off the piping.

Went with a vf30 turbo, got a temporary atmo turbosmart bov till i find a suitable plumback(most likely the one that was on the car - need to make a bracket).

Next in line injectors and tune.

Went to Kwinana for some runs before the end of the season. It takes me 3-4 runs before I remember how to launch as I go like once a year. I started with a slow 15.2 with a 2.7 60ft time!

By the end of my runs I managed a 14.2 @ 156.74kph with a 2.1 60ft.

So there is still room for improvement to make the 13's. The car certainly feels faster than the last time I ran it in 07, but with slow 60fts, its not gonna do me any good.

Update:

- My 3 piece rims are back on, wife and I bought a 2001 GT Forester so she got my GT 08 wheels.
- 4 pot subaru calipers with bendix pads, slotted 294mm rotors. Pulls up so much nicer now :)
- Re-wired my boost controller and boost gauge light (defi style) to accesory power rather than light power - I was a little slack last time I did it.
- Mounted my little interior neons (they had weak velcro on before)
- Replaced engine mounts -> the old ones were leaking cronically and snapped in half. New ones feel great.
- Sti 5spd Short Shifter Assembly
- Aircon re-gassed and seals replaced :)

Future Hopefuls:

- Strip paint, Fix dents, Fix cracked/bubbley roof racks, paint body new colour
- Detail engine bay (polishing and paint)

Yeah GT wheels looked nice but 4 pots too big for them. As it is these 3 piece wheels have like 1-2mm clearance.

Have considered painting inners before, not to sure about it but got images here:

Was T-boned tonight. Bit of a shock. Driver's side rear arch, both doors, skirt and scratched the rear rim.

Other driver at least owned up to the fault and we exchanged details easily.

Where did that happen?

Happened turning into allenswood road from hepburn ave. I have right of way, I saw them coming after I started crossing, honked my horn but was too late, they knocked me 100 degrees around. Lucky the on coming traffic managed to slam their brakes on in time.

Hi guys,

As seen in the last few posts the car is damaged and I'm in two minds as to whether to get it fixed or to move onto another Subi. The quote for the damages (covered by other party's insurance) was $3,500 to fix body and mechanical.

Car is still driveable but looks ugly with the damage and needs rebalancing. I was thinking of parting out the car, so if people are interested in bits (look af first post for specs) let me know and I will make up my mind on fixing.

The car won't start to be fixed until at least beginning of August due to all those hail damaged cars...

Any opinions welcome... :)

Remember, this is a Legacy. They're rare cars that should be cherished. Especially a sensational example like yours!

Since you guys convinced me into it..

I'm going to get the car repaired. :D

Plus fix a couple of other little areas of paint in the process, hopefully shouldn't cost too much on top. August 2 is the scheduled date tho... waiting game... damn that hail storm.

Rob, see if you can take a cash payout and organise the repair yourself. You'll have more control over the repair and end up with cash left over. I have lots of wagon doors, cheap!

Thanks Doug,

That was an option, but I think it will be hard to get into other panel beaters at shorter notice. I'll just take the easy way out this time. But cheers for the offer :)
