Was wondering when you'd put this up in the members rides section...

One of the best RS Libs in WA.

06 Lib wheels make the car look a little more subdued, but It still looks very good and adds to the sleeper value. Plus so many RS Libs have WRX 17s. This is something a little different.

I say stick with the 06 Liberty wheels.

Get some dark tints. that'll nicely finish off the exterior look.

I put the spoiler back on last night just to see what it would look like, didn't even bother screwing it in before taking it off again! Looked alright with the WRX wheels but it doesn't really go with the Liberty wheels at all... destroys the smooth sleeper look

Remember I mentioned on the phone about putting the extra olive in the turbo line..........gone from 1bar to 1.4 - 1.5 >>>>> Boost, cheapest mod I've ever made & I reckon it's added 20kw nyuk nyuk nyuk. Prolly Kill it again but it's only money, when I gave Sam a few runs on Sun Just after I put it in (1 min to do or undo) it was boosting to about 1.3 but took it for a quick squirt last night & in the cold it was close to 1.5, you can really feel the difference.

nick, currently only making 194kw atw... Hoping new cams and headers will open it up a lot. I'm aiming in the 220 - 230kw region *fingers crossed*

Elliot, suspension and wheels are next after the cams and headers go in. I have got myself some 16" wheels with R-Comps so i'm keen to see how it goes on the track! The close ratio 6 speed is amazing and should allow me to stay on the power :D

Nice car, but not so nice driving anticts.

The missus and I were on the freeway cruising south over the bridge the other night (the 80km/h dogleg bit near the convention centre). We were in the middle lane going exactly 80, I was especially conscious of this fact due to it being double demerits. There was another car sitting in the outside lane just ahead of me also doing approx 80.

MEANRS shot up past me in the outside lane at easily about 100km/h then darted across in front of me very close to both the front of my car and the rear of the other.
Didn't even indicate.

It's not a ****ing race track mate, grow up.

Fair go mate!

I remember this incident... you were in a WRX of some description? We had been driving along the freeway for a significant period of time in close proximity. The speed limit in that section is 80km/h but the car in front of me had been consistently alternating between 70 - 80k ever since I approached it from behind (I had been going 80k on the dot) and should not have been in the right hand lane. As we approach the bridge the car in front hits 70km/h and slowing further, you also slow down to 70k so fortunately there is still a reasonable gap in front of you. As we go up the bridge, I speed up, indicate to overtake, pull out, and once safely in front, slowed down again. Accelerating meant I was no way near either car.

This is aimed more at the driver of the car in front rather than you but it deeply irritates me when people fail to maintain a CONSTANT speed in cars which are perfectly capable of it... even on minor hills etc! And this is while they are in the right hand lane of 3 - 5? lane freeway! I know that you were just keeping speed with the other cars around you and that the other side of that bridge can be a police hot spot but double demerits should mean (when conditions are optimal as they were) that we drive to the speed limit, not below it for no reason!

I may not have needed to accelerate in normal circumstances and i'm sorry you are offended by my driving but I feel my actions justified given the situation.

No I wasn't in a wrx, you most likely didn't pay me much attention.

Your actions could have been justified if you were driving a pregnant partner to the hospital or something like that. If somebody is going slow, a reasonable person would simply wait for a safe opportunity to overtake, not dart infront of other drivers.

I get annoyed with people doing what that other car did too, but that's all, it annoys me. It's an extremely common occurance and I just deal with it. I don't act like a cock and cut infront of other people to somehow rectify the situation.

Lets leave it at that I guess, each to their own, agree to disagree. I'm sure everyone you encounter on the road just loves your driving style and most driving instructors would also agree your actions were completely justified.

*edit - Seagull I didn't get a PM from you ? My box hasn't been full recently that I'm aware of.

Couldn't you see my pregnant partner in the passengers seat?? You know, my driving instructor always told me to shuffle my hands on the steering wheel while turning... fat chance! I don't tend to have many issues while driving as I stick to the appropriate limits etc but I guess since the majority of Perth drivers have their heads in the clouds they probably don't even see me. I would certainly not call myself an aggressive driver, unlike my Dad! :P But anyway, you can now be glad to have that off your chest AndrewT and my apologies once again.

Dean, pffft Wilson brothers!

Ludwig helped me fit a DCCDPro Deluxe Controller on the weekend, we mounted a cluster of LEDS in the centre console to show the output and it looks awesome. I have to wait for Jeff to send me a reprogrammed DCCD controller chip for the reverse TPS polarity though as the DCCD controller is designed for newer WRXs with the revised TPS/inlet manifold.

Just got some shafts for my R180 thanks to Doug so now I just need to fetch some R180 rear hubs and I'll be able to stop flogging Brend0's old RS R160 diff (haha just kidding Brendan!).

Lee, black RS isn't running right now, bloody eBay spec radiator decided to have a core failure so i'm waiting on a replacement. Rear skirt would be nice though!

And in the longer term.... My new build slowly continues. Watch out Wilson brothers!

Do you rate them?I got the headers from Troy at ProSpeed Racing a couple of years ago now. Looks like he doesn't sell the GT Spec ones anymore but the Hypertec seem to be the same design. Think I paid $1200 including the heat coating . They are worthwhile on my 2.5 but I wouldn't have bothered if I still had my 2L.

Where'd you get the wheels from / how much did they cost? Been looking at some nice works for awhlie :)I picked up the wheels second hand off a forum member and never investigated who made them until yesterday when I had the wheels off. They appear to be Rota Torque, I don't know any shops you can buy them locally but have seen them on eBay for $1100 - $1200 + they clear Brembos! :D

Don't have a scanner so I took this with my digital camera.

Power curve is very similar to my TD05H-20G just with more torque and horsepower all across the graph. Still dies in the ass in the top end too unfortunately but very streetable.

I have a 25G wheel and front housing here as well but thought it might be a bit laggy for the street on my current 2.5 with no AVCS etc so decided not to put it on.

What about longevity of the motor considering all its got is forged pistons? I assume the 25G would take me up to 270 - 280kw or something? I need this motor to be in working order so I can sell it when my new build is completed!

Well I finally got rid of the Bosch coils as they were sh*tting me! Haven't been able to drive MEANRS for yonks as it was hesitating, misfiring, running on 3 cylinders all the time etc...

Tried new plugs, leads, cleaned connectors, checked wiring, AFM etc etc but all to no avail.

So I bit the bullet and ordered some FK0186 GD STI coils (coil on plug) and got Doug to help me install today..... so far, so good! *fingers crossed* Very easy to install following instructions I found on this forum and much cleaner in the engine bay than the HEC716s!

I have a really good source for the GD coil packs if anyone else is interested in doing the conversion... about $135 shipped from Japan for a set of 4 and came in less than a week.
