hey guys its a not so well kept secret that my wagz is being converted this weekend so ive started this thread to keep a progress log. heres todays events
Day 1:
3:00pm
. decomissiioned A/C (r12 gas) at tafe for free :D then left tafe bound for work.
4:00pm
arived at work. no cut........ after 1 hour on the phone with border express( dont ever ship large items with these people...)
i found out that my cut is still in sydney. anyway after organising freight for it tonight the fun started
5:00pm
drained all fluids and started removing under vehicle components removed rad and ac condenser.
6:00
engine and box are out, without any damage to anything, all captive threads still intact (yay!!!!)
7:00
all front suspension components and front crossmember have been removed, i am happy and i go home,
tomorrow the dash, wiring loom and braking system will be removed, followed by saturdays frontcut strip and fit i will keepo everyone posted and pics are to follow.

no, tz's are na and auto,
(tz is the prefix for subaru automatic gearboxes)
it would have been finished on saturday afternoon if i had the cut by now.... :( anyway it should be all running by sunday afternoon, pics will be getting taken this morning before i pull anything else off . as i forgot the cam last night in my rush and frustration.

Where did you end up buying it from Just Jap?

Im was thinking about putting a turbo in mine but decided to change it too a manual, Plus didnt want to be off the road for too long and spend to much $$$$.

Well i hope everything goes well and you get it soon. Let us know if you havent sold the gearbox.

i got the cut from ebAy for $2400 delivered with a rear diff :D its in very good condition apart from the freight damage :(

well the car is mostly complete and running, big thanks to nath (rec01l) and dan (dja) for all of thier assistance during the conversion so far :D also dan i got the cv shafts sorted and they are all in aswell as the tailshaft and exhaust ( which needs modding slightly) al thats left is mount dash cluster, wire in head unit, mod door looms and refit pannels :D i will be boosting the streets in no time at all
donna , the cut has 124000 km on it and it came from allstate auto imports in qld
the bar was damaged , the rh blinker was smashed and the rh guard was mangled, also the rh lower control arm was bent, but all in all its been a very easy process so far, i would recomend that everyone has a go at a conversion.

conversion is DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! pics coming atm, ive alreadyhad my first failure though, high pressure line oring on the power steering pump has failed ( i hope)..... it will be fixed tomorrow though :D also apologies for the quality of some of the pics, i was flat out converting and didnt have time for 100% pics also im up for doing another conversion if anyone needs a hand,

i have ;) the pedal feels overly firm, then the brakes apply them selves, though there are no strange noises or anything, but sayingthis i drove it about 20 mins ago and it seemed fine, its just messing with me :|
