airbox done - at last (a few pics)

i finally finished the gen 2 airbox/CAI on my RS on the weekend.

this is the thread I started ages ago (http://www.rslibertyclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=65763&highlight=airbox) when i first got a gen 2 airbox etc. its shows my CAI setup.

i used a 30 degree aluminium bend i got off billsy with a bit of aluminium tube. billsy got it welded up at his work - but they took farken ages. i only got it off him on thursday. cost nothing though :D

here is the end result:
i have ABS, bosch coils, FMIC pipework with a gen 2 airbox and 2-1/4" into 3" 90 on the turbo. it's an 'interferance fit'.....

Where did you get that 90 degree bend Geach? I was looking for one but couldn't get it in black. Could only get 2.5-3" in black.

Also where do your breather lines plumb back in or is your catch can atmo?

I have the Gen 2 airbox in my car. I just cut down the JM res. pipe a bit and fit a 3" 45 degree black silicone bend (with a bit of cutting). I don't have an AFM though which made it easier.

the bend came from *looks for site*, ummm, it came from the US. i got 2, one for sam too. i'll see if i can find it. google OBX and you might have some luck. Oversteer gets heaps of shiz from there too.
