If an RX Impreza has a 2.0L NA an a WRX has a 2.0L Turbo, what does the 'W' stand for......Wurbo?
Stands for "Would rather be in a liberty"

That car, as a wagon, in charcoal, lowered 1.5" all round, 2.5" exhaust.......
Time to stop dreaming lol
However I dont quite see where the extra $10,000 is..... main difference is ecu tune and wheels......... wheres the rest?

Brembo's? Suspension?
Cruisin92
17th April 2007, 05:55 PM
Suspension was supposed to be on that list...... didnt realise it had Brembos though

I thought the extra 10 K was very resonable. Those STi exhausts cost a shitload, brembos cost heaps, and i imagine it would be the same for the new ECU!

I wonder if it's got the chronic build quality problems of the other new Libertys? *cough*3.0RB oil leaks & appetite for engines*cough*
In general, it leaves me yawning.

Iain Iain Iain.... once again we are like 2 negatively charged ions... :D (NERD! thought I'd get that one early hehehe)
As some may know the RS is going up for sale soon and I seriously think that I have found it's replacement... Yes, it seems a little exxy but it's stock, it's a liberty, it's new and it has a warranty :)
New year present to self, here i come :)

It has a twinscroll td04.
It is down on torque on the series 1 gen 4 2.0L with the vf38. And even though it has a 2.5L the new STI lib produces torque later on the rev range than the old 2.0L.
But yes it has the really strong STI 6MT but no DCCD.
Its a good value car ove all, but $10K for brembos and different struts and springs? I dunno if that upgrade is worth $10K.
Though it does look hawt! :D

A slightly different shade of "charcoal" to my wheels, however. These are lighter...
And those STi wheelnuts cost a bomb too!!

It's a nice looking motor, Denlo Subaru in Paramatta have one in their showroom. I was in there on Thursday putting down a deposit on a MY 07 GT spec B sedan and actually got to sit in the beast. The wheels look awesome and if I had had an extra 10 grand I would have gone for the STi. :D

Just joined up because I am close to doing swap of MY06 STI for the OPB Libo GT Spec B Tuned by STI. My plans are to drop in a VF38 twin scroll and dump pipe then re-flash of ecu!

Dealer rang me today and said the car has arrived, black manual Libo GT Spec B STI - damn that's a long name for a freakin car! Anyway I am going tomorrow to drive it and then make a decision on trade. I love my STI and it drives like a rocket but it's time for a new car and I reckon this may just be the next one! I will report back on my impression.

ok guys just got back from city subaru, they let me drive the libo tuned by sti and I must say it's a great car! Very hot looking with the gunmetal rims on black. It felt pretty strong in terms of torque while the suspension set up is somewhere between the GT Spec B and WRX STI - firm but not as firm as my STI. It has a nice rumble with just the stock pipe - two twin pipes. the inside is well luxury, leather electric seats with memory, sunroof, si-drive, climate control, 14 speaker macintosh stereo, etc...very roomy and comfortable to drive but not too comfortable! Brembos are the same exact ones as mine, gear ratios feel a little different but didn't have to do any searching, gearing down so they def got the ecu right, it's a lot heavier but all in all very very sweat, under the bonnet it looks like vw gti with plastic cover over everything but did have a look at dump pipe and peep at TD04.
Now for the down side. They want $75,449 for which includes farkin luxury tax of $2645, stamp duty of $4289, rego $535, and stealer delivery of $1990.
Sorry but aint no way in hell I am spending that much on this Suby. Better off just buying the GT Spec B which gets under the luxury tax threashold and spending the substantial difference on mods I reckon.

Are you serious... They must really be leaning on it to get that sort of power out of a TD04...

It's damn quick considering how much it weights compared to my STI. Not laggy at all compared to my STI in stock form. Still not worth the $$ they are asking though. Hell if I am going to spend that sort of $$ then may as well wait for EVO X or spend another $40K and get the new Skyline in 2009!

Really? A mate of mine tried to buy one (a GT spec B)last year and because he works for the Gov't it had to be under the luxury car tax to lease it. City's couldn't make it happen even with a "I'll give you the rest in cash" offer  Sadly he bought a Volkswagen instead :td Maybe the price has come down a bit, or they've dropped some of the O.R.Costs since?
Dave, buy the Black STi wagon and I'll buy it off you at the end of the lease if you look after it :D

No interest in a wagon mate, $62100 is the luxury tax threashold so it's not like the Libo STI is just $10K more than the std Libo GT SPec B - try $13K on road. I lease my vehicle using novated lease so best bet for me is lease the GT Spec B and then buy mods, rims, zorst, reflash of ecu, and maybe a VF38 to replace the TD04. This would still be way under the price City Subaru offered of $75,500. I have a few camera pics of under the bonnet etc of the STI version and will post.
