Be careful - I bought heaps of 2nd hand gear from Roguepi and it was all supposed to be for a turbo motor but ended up being from an NA motor. By the time I found that out it was too late to do anything on eBay and he stopped answering my emails and phone calls. But I also bought new stuff that was OK.

I`ve bought heaps of **** from this guy....in the end(took a long time) I did get it all and the prices were cheaper than I could get elsewhere.....but I wouldn`t buy anything further because it took so long to get the stuff, and to get responses from him....wasn`t worth the money saving. On stuff he had in stock he did deliver fairly quick, other stuff that was being ordered/sourced from US or direct from Japan did take a long long time.

His name is Mark Lee, and apparently he works for some sort of shop in Sydney, they build engines etc apperently, nothing I could comfirm or find out much more about.

Ken, what stuff did you buy that was for n/a etc ? please give details.

As for the Eagles vs these forged rods ......Eagles don`t have a very good rep in subaru`s....maybe spend a few more dollars and go genuine pauter or somthing like that, order direct out of the us. Depnds how much power your chasing ? What turbo you going to use ?
These rods do have arp bolts in them too !

Water pump, oil pump, idler pulleys etc.
But did also get the EJ257 from him, and the STi clutch, pressure plate and flywheel and they were all good.

OS - just getting stuff together to build a stroker. Saw the Eagle rods on ebay and thought they were a good price for what you get. Pauter would probably be overkill, but I will see what they cost ex USA - can you suggest any suppliers from over there.

Eagle rods aren`t that bad after what I`ve heard. They are far from the best tho, but for the price they are ok. If you need to speak to someone that can supply you with engine internals, Ronald Williams at Axis Racing is the man to talk to!

I got my internals from him, 05 STi crank, balanced and modified for better oiling and center thrust bearing, Pauter rods and coated CP pistons, ACL rod and main bearings, and ARP head studs! He knows what he`s doing, and will answer just about every question you throw at him!

r.williams@axispowerracing.net is his email address.

The question is, what brand are roguepi's rods? Pretty sure he didn't forge them himself so why put your own ebay name on them?

What problems do eagles have OS? 500kw upwards?
Eagles certainly don't look as good as argos but they are way better value than fitting bolts to std rods at a similiar price.
I was told by a machinist that they were an entry level product from Scat.

Marcus Lee. Used to work for Brett Middleton at MRT while back.

I always thought he was a bit dodgy.

Why do ebay traders have to use unpronouncable names made of random letters.
If you are a real business put your farkin name on the product.

Long waits for products says to me that they stock nothing and are just advertising shid that they are buying in and sending to you direct. End result is they have no quality control at all and just pocket the markup.

Hmm, just looked at some of his ebay feedback....sounds familar !! Looks to be a true fukwit so bewarned !!

Eagle rods, I have been advised by a couple of shops here to stay away from them, and have seen one engine failure locally, and heard of another in the circle of builders over east with the use of eagle rods in applications still using small <400hp turbos.

As for fukwitkus`s rods.....I have a set, he told me they were made by a cnc shop in sydney from 4340 crome moly.....will be getting mine looked at, and most likely shelling out for some pauter or argos, everything else I bought from him has been name brand and genuine when arrived...eventually ! If they are scat well...thats not good !

Fuken ebay, its just full of fools and con-artists...nothing more ! I should have know better after previous ebay "adventures" Ebay and paypal are idiots to deal with as a enterprise.....just remeber, and don`t let anyone tell you diffrent, ebay is full of fools(that will be you if you buy somthing) and con-artists(selling you the stuff)...nothing more....do your homework !

dont do what i did and buy cheap stuff that breaks... the amount of money i have gone through waisting it on stuff that breaks 2 weeks later then buying the good stuff i probably would of had enough money to build a clone car...
i use argo rods and they seem pretty good (have not broken 'yet')

Eagle are the rods of choice for <500 HP

You only have to look at them to see why. Not the best machine work.

I roll with ARGO these days. I think TOMO does too. Rods of choice.

Ebay rocks. I think it's fantastic. beautiful business model.
It's users that fcuk you, not ebay.

ebay is only good for getting shiz you couldn't get otherwise.... as for bargains? probably 1 in ten things i've bought have been 'bargains' and thats only by hitting bit in the last 20 seconds or wanting stuff no one else does!

Only chance of a bargin is on 2nd goods, as for new goods its just a hyped up gimmick adding the excietment of a auction and the "chance" of getting somthing cheaper...then you get the old postage/s&h games that go on.

Only a good bussiness modle for ebay and paypal themselves....and the dodgy users, people who want to gamble(buyers)....might as well go to a casino....then buy from a store with comeback and warrenty thrown in for free.

If my math is correct then 500hp = 372Kw. I would be happy with that!.
So at the end of the day they are Ok but there have been a few reported problems with them.
If you had to choose between STI rods out of a 207 or Eagles chasing 500hp who would choose what.

I have had a bad experience with Roguepi too - sure I got my injectors, and the price was good.

However I waited 3 months and when I complained that he took too long, he gave ME negative feedback!

Dunno if anyone's had any experience with him, but Indy So of IS Motor Racing reckons that Eagle con rods are the worst as they apparently have really bad problems with expansion within the first 5000km...?

Does anyone know the rough price on a set of Argo rods ? and where to get ?

I have spoken to another very reputable engine builder, it was suggested using a fair size garrett and cams is going to really test the limits of eagle or Scat rods....again I was told don`t do it, not worth the risk. Argos were recommended.

OS, the Argo website is having a special on the EJ20 conrods.

Check out the link below, and it has a price up there.

How does Pauter rate compared to Argo ? Low windage does seem like an advantage !
