well guy's my baby is dead, she has been hit front and rear the damage is huge and the car i think will be ridin off as im 99.9% sure of it so it's deffianlty a sad day i cant even open 2 of the doors!.
i'll explain what happened: coming home from work busy evening came to a set of red lights some might know this intersection scorsby and burwood hwy right near captain snooze anyway i was staionary for at least 3seconds when i looked in the rear view mirror and there was a car flying up behind me and BANG!! first hit from behind bang 2 hit the car in front so the car isnt in good shape at all...

I saw this on OzLiberty - sorry to hear that mate.
Are you sure it's a write off? It looks as though it could be structurally sound - but hey, I'm no expert :)
EDIT: DON'T even think about getting a TT engine.

Doesn't look that bad. Insurance companies will write anything off these days...
Go the RS wagon. They're rare, go quick and have lots of room in the back. Failing that, go the sedan. You won't be dissapointed.

i dont think its a write off.
bad luck man, but i think its fixable. would have to see if the floor, roof and front chassis rails are still straight.
if it is deemed a write of, buy an RS wagon.

the pictures don't show the really bad damage when you open the boot and take the spare ou t all the floor is cracked and moved away from the sides also the car actaullay dips down at the rear so theres alot of damage that you have to look closey for...
and yes i would love an RS wagon or sedan anyone in melbourne want to sell me theres..???

That sucks mate, but unless it has some chassis damage, then she won't be a write off!
And if you want to get a new car, pick a budget and then that will give you a better indication of what to get. Whether to go out and get a gen2/3 GTB or find an aus del wagon and do that one up nice :)

Ah that sucks! Still, it could have been worse I guess.
I'd go the RS wagon also.

I know it's in Brisbane, but if i had my time again i'd snap this thing up. 2.5l conversion, 200kwatw super sexy car, have seen it in person. Beats slowly fixing up mine.

well if it's ridin off i should have around 12-14 k to play with, there looks to be chassis damage so i do think it will be i also asked the tow truck driver and without hesitation he said it will be a ride off, in a way im hoping it is because it's going to be really hard to sell a car thats been in an accident like this and the car is never the same which really sucks...

iOrion is just showing his n00b status
that sucks dude. if the doors dont open then its squashed and i can almost guarantee its a writeoff, id be looking for a new one anyway, on the off chance they fix it, it wont be as good as it was

Sorry to hear. Personally, I'd grab a Gen 2 and convert it to single turbo :D

Sucks heaps man.. but if written off, better things to come..
This was my old ride that was written off a month after i sold it to a mate.. still miss that car :( check out the roof ripples. Was hit hard in the back at 80km, mate was waiting to turn at a set of lights. then slammed into the tray of the ute infront of him.
Anyways sorry for thread hijack...

I would say that it will be a write off.
I had minor front end damage to one of my Suby's and parts are a killer. I damaged a front bumper, radiator support, bonnet, 1 head light, a few other bits, and that was $7k to fix. I had no tail end damage. I'd say to fix your car, it will easily go close to insured value, and insurance companies will write it off so they don't have to offer lifetime warranty on repairs.
Start looking for a clean wagon from which ever series you like most. They are all great cars.

+1 Marv.
I wasn't looking at this from a potential conversion perspective, but from a TT drivers perspective. I know nothing of conversions so it didn't even cross my mind.
