yep, was at a give way sign 12.40am. car behind me locked up in the wet. and smashed my back end in. last 1/4 of the exhaust is crumpled up. boot wont open. side door wont open. looks pretty decent from behind. but wont be a rite off.
drive of other car was an excel. his bonnet was crumpled up and smoke and **** was flying everywhere as he took it off the road. he broke his hand. i was lucky just with a sore neck. could have been worse!

spotted a white (maybe converted, maybe rs) wagon with bov drive passed the scene of the crime too and toot the horn.

the time is now 4.03am. goodnight

pics soon...

sorry to hear mate.

don't be quick to disregard the sore neck, it could be a little more complicated. Best to have it checked out by a local GP.

As for the subaru... very sad to hear. I hope it gets repaired OK.

yer i started to think that today they mite not repair it.
but the door does open. and they clsoe. but you got to lift the door up kinda thing. bit of a stuff around. but it does shut. just hits the guard then you lift, and goes in.

i realllly dont want it to be a rite off. only had the exact same thing happen about 6 months ago. yet i was launched into the car infront. have to wait and see.
i went to the hospital wen it happened. got checked out etc.

Far out, that excel came out worse for wear. Sucks to see that happen to anyone, hope it works out quickly and cheaply for you.

Doesn't look good from the looks of the pic from under the car looks like a write off

say it is a right off,
what are the chances of being able to rip my exhaust off?
wasnt cheap, and only been on for a couple of months.
anyone got any ideas?

Unless you opt to buy the wreck, your chances are pretty much slim to none.

The car needs to remain intact, that way, the insurance company gets a better price than for what is a wreck that's already been picked at by the vultures..

Very sorry to hear mate, hope you are ok.

Can't believe I spotted this car looking perfect just yesterday! Good luck sorting it out.

Its a GX so possibly worth 5 or 6k.
Damage is a fubar exhaust which insurance will have to replace with a brand new one ($$$).
Panel/door damage is possibly fixable but again, at a decently high price.

You cant really tell if the chassis is damaged, so my guess is that it will be a write off as the damage repair bill will be more than 5k for a bodyworks to fix.

If you want to keep anything out of your car (stereo, gauges, aftermarket seats, etc.), my advice is to take it out now!

...and swap it for standard. the insurance won't know.

Shame to see this happen.

Is the exhaust worth anything to you anyway? It is crushed for most of it?

you realy should get your neck checked man...
i stacked a car a few years back while padock bashing, i was okay apart from a stiff neck that wouldnt go away. so i went to the doc, who told me i had a protuding disk. which if it slips the wrong way could possibly squash my spinal cord.

Physio fixed it.

Does the $6250 pay out include the wreck, or do you have to bid for it at auction?
Why not fix it? or buy a bunky GX/LX and fit all your goodies to it, bound to cost less that $6K all up done.
Then you sell all the left overs and come out smelling of roses :tu

all options i have to consider dt.
im heading to europe in a cpl of months time for a few months. so unsure as to what i will do.
dont want to have a half finsished project lying around for months.
so mite just get a bunky for now. pick the rs up and sell off the parts. mind you there is a cheap rs wags on autotrader which i mite even consider... :D

Sorry to hear bud, but the most important thing is that you are ok. I know it isn't the best thing to hear when your pride and joy is banged up but in the grand scheme of things the car can be fixed, paraplegia can't. Hope it's not a write off either.

Best of luck!

Not good to hear man, I have almost come to grief at that intersection... brake fade coming from Findlay up to South street and ended up in the bus lane! Lucky the car coming the other way was in the middle lane.

You seen that series 1 wagon not far from there on Findlay? A genuine RS?? Says Liberty on the back, might say GX though.
