View Full Version : Cleaning vomit out of the interior

So, I had a person (who is a member here :P ) spew in the back of my car on saturday and I want to know from people the best way to clean it up and get rid of the odour.
It was all through the arm grip and little recess below that, over the inner window seal and the fabric on the door trim, but I got onto it as quickly as possible, mopping up the bile, flicking the chunks (mmm, stomach lining) and generally trying to wipe as much of it down as possible.
Within about half an hour (after dropping her at hospital), I'd got home and had hit the trim with Armour All interior cleaner and a heavy dose of Meguiar's Anti Odour. I'd wiped down the window sill and tried to get as many chunks out as possible, but I think there's a heap down in the door because the window was put up and down after she spewed.
There's still a funky, milky smell coming from the fabric, however, so does anyone have any tips for good interior cleaners/etc?

steam clean.
and deoderise it.
if you dont fancy steaming it, shampoo it. any car detailer can do it for you.

So if scrubbing is the solution, what is the recipe? Sugar soap? Hot water and dishwashing liquid?

Her boyfriend and my girlfriend were there. I wasn't allowed in to see her, but they were

She was fine 2hrs later. Someone slipped something very bad into her drink and it was pretty scary for a little while. Heart rates bouncing all over the shop, random muscle spazzming, etc. Luckily, there was my girl and my mate to look after her and we were only around the corner from the Hospital.
Thanks for the tip, I'll make sure to suss out when it's been a good day working on the Frankenflat6 :D .

If I had leather in the RS, i'd have ripped it out by now and replaced it with cloth. Slides too much in the twisties. If my car were an M5 or a Gen 2 Billie, that'd be different though  :D

I was in the same boat as you last night....
I wasn't drinking for a change and got the late night call up to do a pick up.
The front seat passenger failed to get her head out the window far enough and spewed down the outside of the car, in the window channel, in the door card grooved strip and down the door card.
I hosed down the outside of the doors, used mr muscle on the doorcard and window sill rubber strips with a sponge, whil leaving the drunk sitting in the bottom of the shower inside the whole time.
Just aired out car today, and it seems okay.

It's a disappointing world we live in nowadays where you can't even go out for a few quiet beverages, particularly if you're female with people attempting to ruin your evening with these potentially lethal sedatives/hynotics.
My hatred for rapists is not the relevance of this thread though. Good luck with the cleaning.
In future rug her up and drive with the windows open.

Is this Rachel? Find the person who drugged her and make them clean the car! Ok, ok, maybe that's a bit much, I over react sometimes and say harsh things, gotta calm down....
There's special sprays that detailers and panel beaters and stuff have. They don't just smell nice they have chemicals that kill things, much like that person who drugged this girl you speak of. I've been out when two MALE friends got drugged. As far as we could tell by bar staff too. I would like to have a tea and a chat with one of these people one day..

what ever you use put a heap of vanilla essense in
that stuff takes the smell away.
but warm soapy water to mop it up first

Go to kennards and get a carpet shampoo cleaner. The type that sprays and sucks. You might want to do your hole car though as they work great. Vanilla essense would be great as well mixed up in the soapy water.

Back when I was on P plates I had an EH wagon (don't tell anyone  and NO! it wasn't brand new  ) A chick I worked with chucked in the back seat. I couldn't deal with the smell so I rode my motorbike to work for a fortnight while I worked up the courage to face it. When I returned to the wagon, ants had eaten it all :tu :tu :D Of course vinyl seats and rubber floor is more forgiving than carpet.
All you can do is remove the door trim and all the armrest plastic parts and wash them and wash a high pressure hose down inside the door. When doing so try not to have a Pulp Fiction "why am I the one on vomit detail" moment :P

Ah, How about something logical like Kitten upholstery cleaner perhaps.
Crazy, I know.
Works a treat and leaves a pleasant smell.

wool mix ftw.
you'll find it in the cleaning isle near the soap powders. there is a picture of an old lady on the front. its great stuff, good for carpet, cars, clothes etc.
smells of eucalyptus too :tu - which is stronger than spew smell.
btw, someone dropped something in a friends drink back when i was at uni. fugged her up big time. fortunately we were there to take her home and she got it all out of her system.
sick kents. i'd like to strap them to the front of a fire truck naked and drive around in a bushfire.

A good friend of mine had her drink spiked at a work party. She just started slurring her words real bad and stumbling everywhere. I nearly got in a cab to take her home. Luckily the bouncer told us to stay put and called an ambulance. She was in a coma and on life support about an hour later... If I'd taken her home she'd probably be dead and I'd most likely be pinned for it.
Seriously, what kind of low life scum would have to spike a girls drink to get some action. Farking pathetic.

We thought we'd leave the hospital a nice gift outside for all their help!
We left them the spew ragg on the front post near the entry doors!
Its the least we could do... hahahahaha!
Hmmmm nothing better than a spew rag..
I tried to keep her spew in the rag.. but its kept running down my arms.. so id flintch and it would go all in the car! BARF!!!

Better yet... you're due for dent removal and a new spray job? Find the person that did it, bash their skull against the side your car and mop the spew up with their blood soaked head.
This is to which I can see two results:
1. You'll get your arse into gear and get the respray sooner.
2. Your car will no longer smell like milky chatness, but instead like blood and iron.
:)
Has anyone seen my meds?

Drink spiking sucks.
I was out for a work party and had something slippped. I didn't have a LOT to drink, im not a big drinker by any means...
I can't remember anything from about 8:00pm or so that night til about 1 in the morning when i arrived, somehow, at Gosford train station.
I woke up with no phone battery, well, hardly any, so i made the call from a payphone to mum. I could still walk properly which was a bonus sign. And i wasn't bleeding from any orifaces. haha. Still, its scary as hell waking up not remembering one thing....

Candy brown! Bahahaha! I have a candy brown paint job.
When the guys I was out with had their drinks spiked they took it pretty well. They just seemed like they'd drunk a bottle of spirits when they had only had a couple of beers. They went home early and slept for about 16 hours and felt like **** afterwards but were pretty ok.

Ugh, I hear you bud! I have had the pleasure of cleaning out numerous things from my seats and carpet, ranging from cat piss on my seat (worst smell ever!) to clutch fluid in my carpet (most anoying clean up ever!). Best way as mentioned before is to steam clean the seats, baking soda and deoderise. If it's in the carpets do the same however peel back the carpet first and do the above on both sides and on the sound deadning.
Good Luck!
