Hi Guys & Girls.
I'm a longtime lurker here
I've had my RS Liberty for about 17 months now.
Used to have a bit to do with some online forums until i did some stupid **** and got shamed for it. I've done some growing up though so here I am.
I purchased my pride and joy off a fellow RSLC member in Brisbane back in 2007. It had a VOS Chip in it, 17" rims and an exhaust & POD... It ran a 15.01 at Willowbank with a "gentle launch" and 16PSI using the VOS chip.
Apparently I get spotted a bit because it has a pretty unique rumble to it. Sexy Time.
I've spent many many many oil changes trying to shut the lifters up but I think i'm almost there, grabbed some Mobil1 0W40 yesterday and that'll go in with a nice new genuine WRX oil filter.
I'm hoping to catch up for some meets and say gidday.
I've spotted a few RS's around Brisbane, one was outside of Toombul shopping center a few months back - you beeped and I would have beeped back but my horn was out of action.
Future mods will be a rebuilt closed deck engine with a VF34, Intercooler, Injectors etc. But for now i'm enjoying the low down torque and 500km off a tank :)
A full respray is definitely on the cards. Trying to work out a paint colour that will look good without attracting too much attention of the bacon kind...

They are PCW rims that came with the car. Not sure if Brad the previous owner still reads this forum, he had a BMW left after he sold me this RS.
I Have always like the spoked look on Subys
Nothing shouts "I have no imagination" like paying big bucks for 5 spoke rims :D

I actually had the idea for the 70AST plates in like 2001 but it was Richie? that got in and bought them, literally a week before I had the cash to do so :( Just kinda stuck with the username...
You'll usually see me getting around the Northside of Brisbane. Im told you can hear the car about two or three suburbs away at night :) SO i'm usually heard before i'm seen.
Its going in for a respray on the front and rear bars and the spoiler which went crazy and the paint bubbled and cracked after all the hot summer days we had earlier in the year. Nasty

the only rs libs i see around are un modified ones driven by average soccer mums and stuff.. yeh i had that tickin problem aswell for a couple of days, good bottle of that nulon stuff and mobil1 oil and she' sounded better than ever...
don't think there are any cruises for a while aye, you could probably arrange one if you are keen, there are always subie people keen to show off their beloved cars

I think we might have to
Ticking is back but only when the car warms up now. When it cools down the ticking is completely gone... grr
Tried the nulon E20 thing, the Nulon flush thing... I think its time to start saving for a 99 WRX motor and just bite the bullet and do the conversion.

if you sell your EJ20T, hook a bro up for free :) haha.. that's the only way i could afford it...even if it still did have a crazy ticking noise i'd be happy with it

A sale of this motor might be on the cards eventually. I'm told with the current exhaust its got a very unique rumble to it. But every time I hear a My99 STi rumble past I keep thinking "I want".
Interestingly, the Mobil1 - 0W40 oil has shut the lifters right up, it ticks a little bit now but nothing like it used to!
And now that i'm using Shell VPower Racing i'm getting 510kms from a tank city cycle !!! and the thing is actualy boosting properly again... Might be time to try the VOS chip in it again.

Narangba?
Did you used to have a lifted RX with "The Backyard Boys" Sticker on the windscreen?
I used to own a Silver S2 GX AWD back in 2003ish and used to pass that car a lot and wave

Nah, no lifted job's in this Garage! SOB13 is a Gen 3 RX, not some old "L" series RX.
Nothing to do with the Backyard boys, although I did sell my old EJ22 to them when my conversion was done 4 years ago.
