Hey!, First up great site. It's nice to see a heap of original series 1 RS's and GX conversions on here.

My name is Cameron and i drive a 1991 GX AWD.

I bought the car in the first place from the trading post with the intention of having a project car. I had a 1993 Hyundai excel at the time.

The Lib i found for $1200 was previously used as a company car at Bloomfield mines, one of the miners then bought it and that was the man i got it from.

$1200 and a wash later.

I was stoked for the price! it was a bit dodgy. missing paint and other little imperfections + 300,000kms on the engine and tranny.

A few weeks later i was blowing smoke and losing coolant. Dead headgasket! I needed either a rebuild or a new engine....

being a p plater, i wasn't going to EJ20T route...sadly.

Sourced a fresh EJ22 with 90,000kms on it and away we went.

Then it was my HSC year and i didn't have much time to scratch myself, lol.

This year (2009) i have added: MY00 WRX wheels with Kuhmo rubber.
2.25inch catback exhaust and 3inch Muffler.
CAI + Reso removal and K&N panel filter.
Sony/Kicker stereo: headunit/speakers/amps/sub.

I also detail the car every now and then to make it look the best it can.

I recently bought a Nissan Pathfinder, so this will remain my project car.

Next on the cards is: WRX seats, Lowering, Borla copy headers, JDM Front bar and possibly a RS steering wheel.

Thankyou for your time, Cameron.

Oh, and this is what it sounds like

What a good looking car, you got it at a good price, even though the motor needed doing. I have a 92 GX wagon with Ej 2.2, I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of torque these motors pull, it felt stronger it some situations than my 98 Honda Prelude with vTec. I just bought a 93 RS, wow! It is nice to see someone who appreciates these cars and look after them. Good luck with it.

Welcome Mate, nice little car.
First thing i would do would be throw some sti suspension in it, some WRX brakes, a swaybar, and you will have a top little car, until your allowed to turbo it :)
look forward to seeing some mods.

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys :)

It would be good if i had the funds for a EJ20t conversion, Due to newer car.

We will see but, give it a few months.

I still drive the liberty to work everyday, it's great on petrol.

Pathfinder is the weekend/trip car, it eats petrol :(
