You should get the mods to move it into the rides section.

Haha no shit! Yeah things have changed a bit since you have had it, but it is 100% your old one. Did you sell it to Dan?

Weird seeing my car before it was mine, kinda freaks me out.. Thanks for the link though

    Cheers Aesthetic.

I bought it off a guy in his 50s who had no idea about the car. He just used it as a daily. He only had it for about 6 months, which he then bought off Dan.

The guy that is sourcing it is getting some awesome prices for me, I wish I knew how. $2,500 for STi short block pre-assembled with shipping and all. Couldn't say no to that ;)

TD06 wasn't as bad as everyone mad it out to be. Yeah, it hit full boost 800 to 1000rpm later than the TD05, but my god it kicks. I didn't re-tune after the TD06 (only had it on there for a week), so that would make low end spool a bit better.

Not much to update really, the engine has arrived and the WRX heads are back from being re-built.

Also found out my clutch was down too 20% so this was a good time to swap it out. Exedy HD should hold up pretty well.

Woohoo! Finally got my car back. After having a tone of gear stolen out of my car it is finally done.
Update on gear: EJ207 short block
    ARP head studs
    v2 wrx heads rebuilt
    VF39 turbo
New Exedy HD and machined flywheel
    new custom catch can

Now to run her in for 1500km and then see how it really goes!

Nice to hear Forcky, I remember the feeling of a new engine or turbo - glorious .

So I see you changed turbos. I bet that turbo feels totally different to the TD06. Heaps more bottom end and mid-range? Oh that's right, keep it below redline while you are running it in .

I will post some pics later, going camping this weekend so will snap some then.
From TD06 to the VF. down low feels like it comes on a lot quicker but I am only running 8psi until the engine is run it and redline has been set to 4500rpm just to be safe.

    Well, that was fun.
So I got my car tuned Monday, picked it up after work. Running 18 degrees advance on idle and 14psi boost. It just kept pulling, it was great.

Then on Wednesday, I went to give her some herbs up and hill, grabbed second and after 3 big metal on metal bangs I now have no teeth left in second

So, as anyone would do, I got myself a 6 speed 03' STi box, r180 rear end and everything else to go along with it. Car is is the workshop now getting the box installed.

I am very keen to finally get my car back up and running and put this new engine through some twisty bends in the mountains.

    Quick update.
Nothing is going well for me
R180 rear didn't fit. At all. So going for a r160 with the correct ratios.
Then my tail shaft didn't fit and the local wreckers can't find one either so looks like I will have to get my shortened so another week at least until I get my car

Why didn't the R180 fit? Wasn't it suited to the box?
Can't find an auto tail shaft? Should be a few GX awd autos there.

R180 wouldn't fit with my current hubs. Would have to upgrade the lot but just don't have the $$ for it at the moment

Yeh, for R180 you need matching shafts, matching hubs, and auto-tailshaft with matching diff flange.

R180 hubs can be bought relatively inexpensively on Import Monster these days mate.

I have the diff/shafts but not the hubs.
And with new hubs I would need new brakes as I understand? My old ones wouldn't bolt up any more?
I will do the r180 conversion eventually when I get some more money. The 6 speed hurt the wallet pretty bad.

So 6 speed has been for for almost 2 weeks now. Making some funny sounds but that is a different issue I will have to get looked at.
Now I have some questions for the next lot of upgrades (hopefully get everything done before the nationals)
Using an R180 diff/shafts I have I would have to buy R180 hubs. And also brakes to go with these hubs. Is there anything else I need? Where can I get hubs from? Brakes shouldn't be an issues, 4/2 pot setups seem to come up pretty often.

    Cheers guys!

Not much of an update but little bit more.
I got myself some GC8 16" wheels to clear my 4-pots which should be put in next week.
And these came with RE55s already on them, so I thought I would run them for a bit. And wow, they are amazing. The car feels completely different and handles amazing!

Looking good mate, black rims certainly make the wagon look a little different.
What was the reason for getting the 16s?
