    Ooh yeah! Can't wait!!

I'll have to learn what some of these parts are exactly so I'm on top of what's happening.

What engine management system will you be running?

I take it you're running a 6 speed box too.

    Cheers

I will use my existing motec ecu and my long range 6 speed out of later model with DCCD viscous front diff and180 plated rear diff, its going in the Flash RS Liberty.
my existing 2.5 that about to come out, then have a freshen up then wrapped up as a ready in waiting..

heres a quick news flash, a EG33 is being built that is dry sump, twin big turbos, nasty BIG cams, that will be slotted in to a series GEN 5 liberty looking for at least 1100hp atw

Flash is that same motor that Marty uses in aka Supergramps ? Were the rods in those motors the thing holding them back from big horsepower ?

no she aint, the engine builder has a few EG33 plus a going SVX sedan,
cams are from Rigoli, no money has spared on the motor, when only the best will do!!
heads have been flowed with bigger valves.
will sound real nasty at idle...

    i like this...

though if you used ej22 pistons and have custom rods made for the 2.5 crank, wouldn't that make the rod ratio worse and generally do bad things.

ive been looking at 2.35 specific pistons that have a different pin height and use stock rod length, and would ideally like a longer rod than that again. but not sure how much room there is without running into other issues with piston strength.

my 2.5 has long rods (argo) with Wisco pistons to suit the longer rod(can acquire pistons to suit 97mm for the longer rod)
but my new build will use standard size rods (especilly made) with wisco pistons with stronger gudgeon pins (same as I used in my 2.5
no problems with strength of wisco pistons, my 2.5 engine red lined at 8300rpm no problems.

interesting, were you finding the pistons distorting around where the gudgeon goes in, making them really diffcult to disassemble after use?
ive had that issue where they are just about press fit.

i presume a larger gudgeon would resolve the issue, hence custom pistons and rods...
is that what youve found? or have you actually bent the gudgeons? i didnt actually check what was what, i asumed it was the piston giving way a little.

have not had any problems or distortions, using stronger gudgeons pins is just a safety measure
have heard of bent gudgeons, hence the stronger type

received a BIG box of goodies,
the PPM conrods look very nice and the RCM headstuds look they will do the job
now the get the ej22 block to receive the 14mm headstuds and first over size piston

the new nitrated (black) crank can accommodate both ways , centre or rear thrust, this motor will be left as a centre thrust
