Default Reco'd Drive shafts. Where to get them from??

Following on from this thread I need to know where abouts in melbourne I can get reconditioned front drive shafts from, and how much for?

Apparently my quote of $165 per shaft was a bit excessive, so can some of the melbourne people shed some light on where they have gone to get drive shafts in the past, and what price they paid, and what kind of warranty came with the shafts, same day service etc etc?

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Cheers

in brisbane one of the best suppliers is driveline services at archerfield. I pay around $160 there (and they look after me) so your price dont sound too bad.

Thats for a used shaft with brand new joints and boots. I dont consider a regreased, rebooted old shaft to be "reconditioned"
Why lower it, when you can LIFT it!

They are on ebay quite often, but I don't think I paid much more than that, if any, for genuine shafts..which means genuine cv boots which = teh goods from my forum trolling.

The other reason I ask, is becuase the drive shaft repairere I spoke to yesterday said that was for a reconditioned driveshaft with onyl a new outer (closest to the wheel) CV. I thought they'd do both.

Just reading from the other- I have been told (and am happy to be corrected) that you should always just replace both drive shafts. When only putting one new one in the other side is more likely to go soon anyway.

I've been running reconditioned shafts in my LX beater for 54,000k now, not a single issue... Haven't had to change any in the RS yet.
