    Default Rusty's RS

    Hey Guys,

Sam here. Have been reading the forums for a couple of years, and have owned my RS since mid 2009, thought it was about time to introduce myself.

I'm not a mechanic by background, in fact I'm a Barista turned Anglican Minister. But I'm a big fan of all things Subaru, and am slowly learning about the RS.

I bought the car completely stock, from a guy out in Dubbo who'd owned it since new, and didn't drive it much at all.

In the last month the car started running terribly, misfiring and stalling. Took the car to Ash at the Edge Tune and Race hoping it might be something as simple as fuel pump or coils, and the culprit turned out to be more serious wiring issues.

Given that I want to take it on the track in the future, I decided the best way forward would be to get a Microtech computer wired in and have the car properly tuned. Anyway, am stoked with the dyno result for more or less stock mechanicals.

    Anyway, here's the car:

    Pics:

Aus Delivered '92 RS Turbo Sedan

    Engine:Standard RS 2.0 closed deck

    Interior:
    Momo Race steering wheel
JVC ipod unit with JVC 6inch speakers all round

    Future mods:
Install TD05h that I bought from DJA
    Walbro Pump
    Front mount,
    New Wheels,brakes and suspension.
    Retune.

Oh and the ver 2 sti RA computer I was running before the microtech will be soon up for sale if anyone is interested.

Welcome aboard mate, car looks immaculate, nice low Km's too.

Definately try and come to the meat up next week, get to know a few of the boys.
Also try and drag the car out on the cruise we are trying to get happening to down to Kangaroo Valley.

    Cheers

Welcome to RS LibertyClub, nice to see you have a clean example to start off with

I love those Aunger Louvers on the back, I think I still have mine somewhere out the back

So, it's been a while, but a few things to update with the RS.

Have had the paint tidied up - spoiler and rear bar resprayed after I was nudged from behind last year. At the same time I had the grandpa spec pin striping removed, and the rs stickers put on, and the car buffed up. Looks a million bucks.

Couple of other mods in the last little while - Installed a cold air intake, front strut brace and 3inch dump. Car is currently catless (and stupidly loud), but I have a cat and oval muffler waiting to be installed shortly which should make it a little more bearable to drive. Also installed some sti seats - they are such a big improvement over the stock seat. This afternoon I removed the grandpa spec louvre - and then spent 20 mins scraping off 20 years of gunk from underneath.

Still a few more things to do - I have sti 17s which I bought from BenTZ sitting waiting to go on, but am waiting till I have a suspension solution sorted out. Not sure which direction to go yet. Also considering a new engine - would love to do a 2.5 turbo - drove my brother in law's worked 04GT recently, and the torque in them is awesome. Big job though...

    Anyway, a few pics:

Hi flow Cat and Xforce oval muffler went on today. Sounds a lot better. Quiet, but still a bit of a growl when the boost comes on. Pics soon.

Considering selling this at the moment. Haven't totally made up my mind, but I've got my eye on something else that I'm keen on - so if you're interested in a fairly unmolested white RS sedan with better than stock power drop me a PM.

would consider it as a part exchange on the outback if you are interested , depending on how much you are looking for obviously.

Hey thanks Ben - still not sure about the outback. Main consideration is the turbo engine in an outback = difficulties if it gets any unwanted attention from the police. Because the outbacks never shipped with a turbo motor, compliance etc is harder if you need to get it. (At least I think that's the case?) Can someone confirm?

I'll keep it mind though. I'm kinda interested in Dan's GT-b... But I'll see how I go selling this anyway...
